Restoring ps3 ss 4000 back to ofw

Hello, i'm sorry to bother you guys, i bought a cheap ss knowing nothing about this one, first thing i done was restoring factory date or format i don't remember now, then i spotted a strange folders on game list and developers options on setings, i guess its HEN (guessing becouse i was im this dev menu options like change reg or fake ps plus), i prefer undo changes and back to ofw, i bought this ps3 for my psn games, but if my informations are right i can't play they and i can get banned too. Tried update, only options is update grom USB but oficial pup is gray, can i turn in normal by changing hdd?

What you need to do is download the latest official firmware (currently 4.85)
Format a usb drive to fat32 with MBR.
Create folder on root called "PS3"
In the PS3 folder create another new folder called "UPDATE"
Copy the latest firmware update into the UPDATE folder.
Make sure the update is named "PS3UPDAT.PUP"

Plug usb into ps3.
From a powered off state, press and hold ps3 power button.
Console will boot, beep and shutdown.
Press and hold power button again until you hear 2 beeps.
Release power button.
You are now in recovery mode.

Follow recovery menu options to update ps3

To be honest a tread od close since 3 days, i got not a retail PS3 with a dex, no, i got oryginal ps3 debug station on ss version, i trying to connect this oryginal dex console to sen, becouse i have a bunch od psn games. This should be a another tread, but if you sir know something about what i do wrong (every thing change on "relase" nothing "develop" and another option i don't remember the name turn if i good remember on) i will be thanksfull

make sure it's not a DEX superslim. check the back for CECH or DECH in the model number. The reason I ask is because on hen those options do not show unless you input a button combo, and the combo needs to be entered after every boot, so basically if it was HEN you would not see those.

I guess its more likely that its on HAN and it has debug settings mod but worth checking all the same. If it is a DEX console it wont allow normal OFW to install, and it would be worth a bit more.

If it is just a CECH then do as fin9ersmcgee says. Install 4.85 HFW then factory reset it again just to be sure xregistry has all standard CEX settings.

Edit: ok now I see your 2nd post has been approved it is a DEX.

Console have one or two write(s) "TEST" and dech 4000 *somethins*, so im 99,9% sure it's developer console. I know i cant instal ofw cex doftware, but when i tried to "uninstall" hen once i log in on im psn do i want to do it one more time, if sucesse i will try its any options to play psn content or synch trophys from br games

Yeah, posted that before your last post was approved, I suspected it was a DEX console from your first post.

Do you have a HEN enabler on the XMB in the game category? or what makes you think its on HEN. I would be surprised if its on HEN.

i think there is no DEX version of HEN cause devs didn't talk about that in scene even there is no one leak 4.85DEX so they can't add 4.85 DEX offset the only ones are for 4.82 DEX/4.84 DEX

No i don't have any hen enabler, i tried turn on hen on this console but nothing happend after use website, more or less after that point i started to looking for other answers what is may be

Correct, So he might be on 4.82 or 4.84..

I think you are probably just on official DEX firmware. The extra things you see on the XMB are most likely just normal DEX stuff. I am not sure if you can use a DEX console with a normal PSN account and on NP environment. Can you check the firmware version you are on in system information?

Anyone with a DEX console know how that works?

Nope he can't go online with normal DEX cause he need to spoof DEX IDPS (0x82) in lv2 to CEX one to be able to use online and thats only possible on CFW Compatible console cause he need to do DEX2CEX and that needs eid_root_key and ERK cannot be extracted on metldr2 consoles

If i good remember i'm actislyaon 4.78 becouse on ps3 wiki versions 4.80-4.84 dontd have any upload or the uploads are not pup but a zip archive, if u wish on abuta 1h i can post here every dev options and yes if its dontd have any hardware mods console have only normal dev options addtional, in that i seen to this moment dex on oficial debug station have small difrences then dex hen

I do not know if that is true, I think you might only need to do that if you are using a CEX idps,... why does Sony include an option to change onto NP environment if you "need to spoof DEX IDPS (0x82) in lv2 to CEX one to be able to use online and thats only possible on CFW"

He has proper DEX IDPS ..so why spoof one..

This is a question for someone with a valid DEX idps and a real DEX console to answer?

But before i installed first oficial dex software i login i in on psn (didnt try open ps s after that)

cause i remember back in days someone said that he own a debug ps3 and he can't go online but i forget his name so your only hope is to wait for real Debug PS3 user answer you

I'm sorry this conversation is not making much sense, it's because your posts are taking a while to get approved.

once you go over 10 posts it should be ok.

AFAIK the latest DEX OFW that is public is 4.81 , you can get that here. https://archive.midnightchannel.net...a12fd9b7bd53660/PS3DECHUpdateData.481.001.zip , just unzip the PUP file and put it on USB with the normal naming and path, then you can update from the XMB.

As for going online I am not sure how that works on a real DEX
