been wondering if anyone actually uses that music tab and if so why?

Does anyone know if ps3 mame 2003plus is still in beta stage?

i saw an option to update or install a core..didnt try it but ,maybe sumthn to mess with and see

on a side note,,anyone know how to add just 1 rom to the playlist without scanning the entire thing again?

also why doesnt mame2000 or plus etc roms show up in playlist with its own icon etc after a scan? tried 2x and it took hours...no box art etc...

@Crystal and @aldostools Because I was unhappy with the current Icon and Background of Retroarch CE, I spent some hours redesigning it. Inspired by their original version and website I created something that translates the nostalgia from the 80's, classic game studios, Sony PVM Trinitron and CRT into it's new design.

If you guys like it, I give you permission to use it in a repack or in a next version. No credit needed.
Inside the ZIP there are all resources that I needed to achieve the final product, including the original PSD.

I'm sharing with you guys this new ICON and BACKGROUND, have fun.

Edit: Now the ICON and BG (without the PSD) is attached here.

My best regards,
Lambada.

Here are some suggestions:

Confirm that your playlists have the following names (case sensitive)
Sega - Game Gear.lpl
Nintendo - Family Computer Disk System.lpl
Microsoft - MSX.lpl
NEC - PC Engine - TurboGrafx 16.lpl / NEC - PC Engine SuperGrafx.lpl / NEC - PC Engine CD - TurboGrafx-CD.lpl

Check that the subfolders where the covers are located (inside the thumbnails folder) also have the same names (without the '.lpl' extension);

Note that the name of the cover has to be exactly the same as in the 'label' field within the playlist;

If that doesn't work, do as Geese howard said, to try to understand where the problem is.

Guys, Hyllian just released "ps3-shaders-22-10-02-v13" newly tested shaders for Retroarch CE.

Hyllian said:
Here is the last pack I worked last year with some additions to v12. I can name it v13.
What's new:
  • Added crt-nobody (a very fast crt shader);
  • Added retro-tiles (a good shader for handheld systems);
  • Added preset crt-nobody-sharpsmooth (a bonus combining crt and sharpsmooth);
  • Added checkerboard-dedither;
  • Added preset crt-nobody-dedither to use with genesis games plagued with dithering;
  • Added ddt-xbr-lv1;
  • Update crt-hyllian;
  • Added crt-hyllian-sinc;
  • Added crt-hyllian-sharpsmooth.

Side note: Not only there are shaders but presets! Probably I will delete the vanilla shaders and stay only with these.

My best regards,
Lambada.

Guys, after creating this art above for our Retroarch CE, I read that @Crystal wanted to include a background music but it didn't work.

Beta #4 is out: link
In attach i make a SND0.AT3 with Children (Dream Version) - Robert Miles, composed and played on the glorious SID chip of the Commodore 64, by Raik Picheta (Eco) [Original Sid file]

So I read this tutorial here to understand how to create a BGM file for Retroarch.
Then I got the chiptune that he wanted to include and started to work (spoiler: it worked!).

I edited in Audacity and I played around with the Stereo Sound, I made some effects so some beats begin in the left and then goes to the right and I created a loop (then I discovered it doesn't loop in XMB, lol). It was my first time editing in Audacity.

As I told you guys before, @aldostools , if you want to include this SND0.AT3 in your next Unofficial Retroarch CE pack, be my guest. BTW, nice music, @Crystal !

1) Here is the project file if someone wants to play with it:
https://mega.nz/file/jEYTUJwB#xceEMdyjeGlP1NBOuh3KOlZmmWugHCBS5dJKh5gJEgo

2) The SND0.AT3 ( just upload through Filezilla to your PS3 FTP, inside Retroarch folder, next to the PARAM.SFO):
https://mega.nz/file/iUpAyZoI#0oAH4IaHNBPIxGRwc7xz4QnYGyb6Nc9q3tTgj_xkzbA

3) The audio preview so you can listen before downloading the rest:
https://mega.nz/file/yVISVBwY#PihEtNe3p3g8VisaNE_ASqKzzdL6a6U5FBt8zO12BxI

I will also attach the AT3 file to this post.

Best Regards,
Lambada (elsewhere aka Zoukambada)

EDIT: Updated the SND0.AT3 attachament with the loop fixed! Redownload and replace the file!
