Retroarch on VITA Stuttering Audio and Slow FPS

Good morning all, I have a question which Im hoping you might be able to help with. I have installed retro arch onto my PS VITA and installed a few games. One thing that seems to be a problem with any game system is a slow FPS and stuttering audio.

When running the best core that will give me the best performance i'm still only getting around 43FPS and the audio is dreadful.

I have followed various tutorials and even deleted and reinstalled retro arch but still I cannot get performance like those in various YouTube videos.

Does anyone know of specifics settings I should be using or maybe a link to a page for recommended settings?

Thank you for your help.

There are many Cores (emulators) within RetroArch.

All the cores, they will not act and behave the same, If they are its likely an issue outside of RetroArch.

What cores and games are you trying to play, without that info its really hard to help with any advice.

Thank you for replying.

I was attempting to play some old genesis and snes games. I have tried every core I have on the machine, 4 for SNES and 3 for Genesis. The cores that work the best are as follows:

SNES - Chop Lifter 3
Snes9x 2002 = does not even load, black screen
Snes9x 2005 Plus = 29fps stuttering audio
Snes9x 2005 = 29fps stuttering audio
Snes9x 2010 = Kills retroarch and a restart is required.

Genesis - Chase HQ 2
Sega - GG/MS/MD/CD/32x (PicoDrive) = 47fps stuttering audio
Sega - MS/GG/MD/CD (Genesis Plus GX Wide) = 32fps stuttering audio
Sega - MS/GG/MD/CD (Genesis Plus GX) = 33fps stuttering audio

Some other information.

Video Output
Video Driver - vita2d
Monitor Index - 0 (auto)
Video rotation - Normal
Vertical Refresh Rate - 59.400 Hz
Estimated Refresh rate - 59.400 Hz

Synchronisation
Vertical Sync - On
Sync Swap Interval - 1
Frame Delay - 0
Automatic Frame Delay - Off
Sync to exact Content Frame Rate - On

Threaded Video - Off
Bilinear Filtering - Off

Hopefully some of this information might help a little further diagnose the issue.

Thank you

What RetroArch version or in which versions cores are. Problem with RetroArch for all obscure platforms is no one testing them... They are just compiled and deployed. I have my own old RA but tested all used by me cores and all games which I played was fine.

Im was running the latest version of RetroArch 1.10.0 but downgraded to 1.9.14 to see if that worked.

It made no difference.

Which version of RA are you using?

I still have it, yet in backup. If You are interested I can upload it. However it has different GameID (it will not overwrite main RA) and resources from "ux0:/data/retroarch/" for current version are not compatible with old (if You have playlists in json format they will not be read; and themes support has changed somehow; XMB menu like was removed too if I'm correct).

Good morning Berion, thank you the kind offer. I'll wait a bit and see if the next version improves things. Its a shame why the latest version is worse than an older version.

regards,
Dathh
