sorry if i necropost... but why the firts thread is closed? but core can be grubbed from core downloader? or we beed 4.1 pkg mandatory?

Where we can find the latest version in pkg for PS4 ?

I'm not sure of the link, but it was on GitHub. It's the unofficial retroarch by @OsirisX . He's mia afaik, haven't seen him in years.

edit: try this: https://github.com/osirizx/retroarch/tree/ps4_r4

Maybe we should actually read the thread's post and links... :)
Also, there is a big download button at top of the thread.

R4 is the latest unofficial version (no official RetroArch PS4 port)

I know there was other who were working on a RetroArch PS4 "official" port by but not sure how far it has gotten.

Question :

(1) It is possible to know who worked on a ''official" port in order i can reach them/ask them question of current dev status ?

(2) Did a video tutorial is available somewhere concerning the R4 ?

I doubt you will get an answer here. There is another well-kown software project in which people I am in contact with are involved,
but it is always the best way to use the official communication channels. do not forget that the people behind are working
on such projects in their private spare time - besides going to school, university, work, running a family etc.

Check the FAQ on the official website, there it says

"When will the next version of RetroArch be released?
RetroArch continues to improve itself day by day.
So there is no specific date for the next release but you can try the nightly builds to get the latest features."

Yes, if you check https://retroarch.com/?page=platforms
then it says for both PS3 and PS4 "Coming soon", but I would not become to excited about it, because...

...if you check their buildbot at https://buildbot.libretro.com/
you can see there are no up-to-date stable builds and no up-to-date nightly builds for PS3 and PS4.
So we just should be happy with the unofficial builds for the time being. Thanks to the creators, thumbs up!

There is no "official" port. The way homebrew ports work now for retroarch, is the community provides it and it gets approved by the official team to include.
The problem at times for homebrew systems now the team shifted course a few years+ ago (around when Apple/Android ports were added on Stores) and official team requires the use of an Open-SDK for jailbroken systems.

The last time we seen progress was when we reported it here.

We were discussing this on X the other day

Here was it being shown by one of the dev who was working on it ( @fjtrujy back in 2021)

The Ps3 version buildbot is not located there.
It was located below at xbins but nothing past 1.9.0

I do not know. he/she posted not that long ago about which sdk his community edition used, but other than that, I have no idea.

Charles , Did you think it would be at least possible to compile create a PS4 pkg in order to be able to "import/inject" a Final Burn Neo Core (at least version 1.9.12 / latest google play store version) OR LATEST 1.2.0 (even better!!) into the PS4 Retroarch R4 ?
if we could get at least only this core it would be fabulous for all the MAME roms (ultimate best core)

Did you think it would be technically possible with your skils ?
