PS3 Reverse Frankenstein

Hi guys! I have a pack of RSX CXD2991xxx and several KTE-001 (with dead graphics cards). Is it possible to make working consoles out of this?

I really think this is an important question. Since RSX CXD530xxx are quite rare and, in my experience, they break more often than their Cell. In the meantime, RSX CXD2991xxx often remains in working order because a lot of people break cells when trying to scalp them. The price of the CXD2991xxx is also much lower.
P.S. Please forgive me for my poor English. I couldn't get an answer to this question on the local forums in my home country.

I think it would be possible but its totally undocumented, you'd have to figure out a reliable method to give the 65nm the proper voltages and get it recognized by the Sherwood syscon which is different from the Mullion found on CECHA-K

You could probably find a way to make it work after a few months of trial and error but would it be worth it? KTE-001 is kind of a junk board thanks to the really often faulty WiFi/BD and other small board faults that cause NLOD + no CFW. My KTE-001's bluetooth is dying with only 200 days of runtime

I dont think thermals would be an issue since my KTE-001 keeps its RSX at 65 celsius at 25% fan speed, if you think its worth it to do this and would be a fun use of your time then go for it but its gonna be really hard

I tried to install it, but I expectedly got errors 3034/4002. I understand that I need to edit SYSCON, but everywhere there is information only about the classic Frankenstein.

You'd have to get the help of someone who is well versed in the syscon environment who knows what values do what, this is potentially helpful for the few 2100-43xx's who do actually have dead GPU's but is definitely a project for someone who both knows bga rework AND the syscon environment

IMO you're better off selling the KTE-001's and making some frankies out of 3004 CECHC's and stuff, maybe a CECHG so you can say you have the best performing CECHG on the planet! The CXD2991's can hit around 650/900 easily and nobody bothers to frankie junk boards like SEM-001 so that would be pretty cool
