Hi guys,
I am proud owner of CECHB00 PS3, which, over the time - it developed some scratches on the case, some are shallow, some are a bit deeper. I am wondering about "reviving" the original shine and freshness like unboxing a console for the first time. Do you have any tips and recommendations how to approach that process correctly? I am aware that if I want to get rid of deeper scratches, most-likely I will need to use wet sanding papers, scratch whole surface of sanded area uniformly, gradually increase the grit index of paper and eventually polish it using polishing paste and polisher.
But I would like to go one step further and after polishing, I was wondering - are there any ways to prevent scratch buildup over the time? This is very soft plastic, even if I wipe a case with micro-fibre, some scratches appear again. Also, very annoying is a fact, that "shiny" PS3 Phat housing is a fingerprint magnet.
Maybe there are some translucent paints, which would create e.g. anti-static layer, helping in preventing avoiding dust buildup, scratches development and fingerprints retention?
