PSP SCUMMVM port for PSPonPS4

nm, it doesn't work. I just tested it on PPSSPP. I'm not really sure how to correct the error, and there's no way to add an issue to their github repo. it's the out of order import stubs error. if I use the fix on page 5 (which worked on 2.5.1), it can't find the pspkernel library all of a sudden, right at the very end too. this is with the latest psp toolchain and latest scummvm.

I got it to work. I had to use docker, because the toolchain they used is from a month ago, and mine is two days old. no warnings at the end about import stubs or errors/works in PPSSPP, latest build of scummvm. let me see if this works (still having trouble with my account): https://www.mediafire.com/file/zj8uj04gksatels/EBOOT.zip/file

here are the plugins. I didn't realize you'd need them: https://www.mediafire.com/file/lep6cloyx2koqw0/plugins.zip/file

so far, two out of three games I tried worked. someone on scummvm's discord server said that broken sword 2.5 doesn't work on psp, which was the first game I tried. the next two worked fine: drascula and dreamweb.

showing it working, both drascula and dreamweb:

sorry for the additional post(s), but here's something that you guys might like: https://www.scummvm.org/games/

it's on the official scummvm website. it's a list of freeware to use with scummvm. not all games work with all versions, but the majority should work with most.

Touche - works with third-party languages
drascula - works. cd music - ok!
The Curse of Monkey Island CD - ok!
Broken Sword II - sound glitch maybe because of ogg
Toonstruck - ok!
Discworld - ok
Gabriel Knight - good!
The Case of the Serrated Scalpel - ok
Red Comrades 1: Save the Galaxy - error on game
Red Comrades 2: For the Great Justice - error on game
Zork: Grand Inquisitor - good
Full Throttle - ok
day of tentacle - ok

it remains to check if it works on ps4.

I think it's 2.10, after 2.09, if that's what you mean. it's not 2.01. please test on the ps4. it worked very well for me based on what I tested. from what I learned based on the people I talked with on scummvm's discord server, docker needs to be used for a lot of this stuff, because it uses a specific version of the toolchain. also, the plugins may or may not work on the ps4. I think that's the reason for the reduced size as "engines" are baked in to the eboot. I don't know if that's a good thing though.

sorry for the double-post, but it actually uses the latest "release" version instead of the latest version, and these are monthly, when the toolchain is updated sometimes several times a day. I think it won't let me post again after so much time. I'm just trying to add new information, which may be relevant. I'm not just some user posting constantly. when I have something to say, you can guarantee it's important. I'm thinking about retiring, because I'm so crippled. I'm about to sell my n3ds xl majora's mask tomorrow for $430, then I'll have some 360s and ps3s to sell, and move on. I have no more hacked systems, yet I still feel like I need to help the scenes.

Thanks. My dad and I were never close. His hobbies were like cars and motorcycles, and mine were computers and video games. We found common ground with guitars and music. In fact, I gave up that to give all of myself to these scenes. I figured I couldn't help unless I devoted all of myself to this. Now that my dad is dead, and my mom is selling all his 200+ guitars, I feel like I've sacrificed a lot more than people realize just to be here. I wish the owners of these sites realized that. I don't think I can do this much longer, because I've lost a lot of sleep worrying that something I said or did upset them. I'm on disability for mental illness, and one of the symptoms is this agitation. I'm trying to get out of this stuff, but it's been such a part of my life that it's been very difficult. I almost have no hacked systems left, because I figured that was my only way out. I'm selling my Majora's mask 3DS tomorrow for $430 actually.

Charles n town - it works fine in the original psp and in PPSSPP, but when running on ps4, it has a black screen. I've tried a lot of games - they work in the emulator, but they don't work on a real ps4. I did everything in PSP-FPKG_v1.0.1 and substituted the parameters:

--globalgamedata-dir=global
--notrophies=true
--ps4-trophies=0
--ps5-uds=0
--trophies=0
--vms-dir=vms
--vms=/temp0/vms
--ms0=/temp0/ms0
--multisaves=false
--securesaves=false
--bend-30hz-lock=0
--force-dsf-present=1
--optimize-fb-self-resolves=true

- black screen :-(

Hi guys! It's nice to see we're still at it ❤️
@Charles_n_town regarding they black screen, did you apply the patch for alternative render mode mentioned here? The PS4 does not display image using the default renderer for some reason.

ааaa.... place the plugins in the root folder - then it works.

yeah, the games wouldn't work for me either without the new plugins. I'm not sure if disabling the engines would have anything to do without needing that or if it would affect the ps4. it's hard to tell without a ps4 of my own to test on.

Charles n town - Have you tried to build the project again? maybe together with jacobsson? Will he help?
Otherwise, it works on a computer, but it doesn't work for the masses on ps4.
I could try, but the last working build mentions 2.5. after that, the emulator either errors or black screens on the PS4. Not having a PS4 myself makes this very difficult to test. I'm also not sure if the engines need to be built, because how can you enable plugins on the PS4? I'm thinking the engines are baked into the eboot if you don't build them separately, but I really don't know beyond the fact that the eboot is much larger.
