PS2 Service Manual SCPH-1x000

I see that this has been asked in the past, but maybe someone has gotten hold of it in the meantime and so I'm asking again. :encouragement:

I would kindly need the Service Manual for a SCPH-18000 (GH-003 motherboard) to check some voltages and some components that searching for the markings with Google doesn't give any results. For the voltages I could also make comparisons with a GH-001, which is essentially identical, but I would prefer to avoid having to disassemble one of my 10000s and in any case I would still have the problem of identifying the components.

Thanks to anyone who can help me. :D

IIRC the service manuals of anything older than SCPH39xxx were not leaked.

I MIGHT be wrong, so lets wait for someone else to answer

if you enter the ps2 scene discord, experienced hardware sceners like armorant, l_oliveira or jao6622 will gladly help u

Thanks for the advice but I've never used Discord. :D

Anyway at the moment the repair of that 18000 is on hold for other more urgent ones. :encouragement:

Ciao! A quick update to the thread.

No, I didn't find the service manual. :( But having some free time I disassembled, multimeter and oscilloscope in hand, a working SCPH-15000 that I have in my collection to make some measurements and compare them with the non-working 18000, since they share the same GH-003 even if of different sub-revisions.

Long story short, I discovered that the DRCG CY2212 was dead so I didn't have the clock for the EE and the RDRAM. I searched around and found them on AliExpress, and obviously they were fake, but in the meantime I also looked for the CKR61, which has the same function but takes care of the GS clock, and after some negotiations with a seller on AliExpress, who very kindly went to look for them in his warehouse, he sent me some which looking at them seem to be genuine. I replaced the CY2212 with the CKR61 and now the console works perfectly, so I think I'll buy some more as spare parts.

I still have a doubt if I can find the CY2212 somewhere...

EDIT: If anyone is interested, the service manual with the GH-010 helped me clarify a few points so it can be used as a base to start from.

Yes, CY2212 died a lot in retail 10ks.

Also you should aware of early EE VDDa (LF101 on GH-013/014) dual channel inductor, resistance of this thing goes up with age, voltage will drop and will no longer boot eventually.

Later board (around 35000+ models) replaced it with 2 single channel instead and no longer have this problem.

One way to find out is that optical audio port light won't lit up. or do multimeter resistance / voltage test

Just fix it by bridge it with 0 ohm resistor.

Yes I fixed a 30004 with a GH-013 with that problem a few months ago... It also had a broken impedance matching resistor between EE and GS. And that's another problem I've had a few times too with other PS2s.
