PS2 Some discs not loading with FHDB

I have this issue where some legit game discs do not load with FHDB, and some of them load slowly at first but work normally after.

So far from the games I've tested Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory do not load at all. When i insert the disc it just goes to a black screen as if it were about to load but there is no Playstation 2 logo and nothing happens.

Burnout Revenge works, but it loads very slowly, it takes maybe 30 seconds before the loading bar starts moving.

Everything works perfectly when i remove the hdd, so the problem is not with scratched discs or something like that.

Is there something I can do?

It shouldn't but somehow the games don't load with it. Whenever i take off the network adapter with the hdd, they immediately start working fine.

If you already have FHDB Use OPL(Open PS2 Loader) launcher.

What has that to do with the topic? He wants to be able to read DISCS... Since he has an internal HDD, it is likely that he already plays from it in other occasions.

Yeah exactly. I could just use OPL, but discs are cooler, so i prefer them for the ones i have.

I guess I'll just reformat and reinstall FHDB, basically the only thing that i can try anymore.

I don't see any connection between discs launching and FHDB. Reinstalling it, You will for sure waste time. If You are super confident that Your observations are accurate, then... it is very strange. Because really, nothing common with FHDB and discs. Eventually You have modchip which breaking stuff when FHDB loaded.

Yeah looks like it was a waste of time, it's still doing the same. It's doing exactly what I described. I don't understand, it makes no sense.

No modchip. Only FHDB I used the pre configured image linked in the ps2 AIO guide.

There is your issue... Do a PROPER installation!

I'm still not convinced that is his source of problem, however, this guide is wrong in that specific manner. Leading people into broken environment.

Might be something else, but still... I'd do a clean and proper installation.
