PS3 Some ps2 games work some don't

Hey everyone,

I have this weird problem for playing ps2 games. What I usually do to get them to work is that I activate the ps3 using my psn, then open my ps2 games. However, this only works for the custom pkg ps2 games I created then downloaded into the ps3. Not the ones from the Playstation store for ps3. Even then, that won't work and I try some other solution. So what I am trying to say is, how do I make sure I can play any ps2 game whether from ps store or custom without the system turning off every time I play one?

I have a non-bc phat ps3 running on the latest evilnat. I also have ps2 classics placeholder in case if the ps3 cannot play ps2 games

Edit: the method I use to play ps2 games is guaranteed to work on ps2 custom pkg file games but not ps2 games from psn store.

Sounds like an issue with activation. Are all of your games from psn store licensed and activated? Custom pkgs use a generic license which is probably activated.

They are supposed to be. I tried running Bully and it worked before. Now it doesn't for some reason. To download Bully on ps3, I used Pkgi ps3 because it was easier to download than to manually make the pkg file
