PS2 Stuck on OPL loading screen

Hi there, i got a PS2 Slim with the homebrew stuff just a month ago, it's been working well for me but today i wanted to try migrating to a USB external hard drive so i could have more capacity, so i copied everything from the original flash drive to the new hard drive and it worked fine when they had the exact same contents, but after adding new games to it via USBUtil it now gets stuck in a black screen just showing the OPL logo and a constantly spinning loading circle.

I'm not sure what info i should be adding to this so i'll throw out some stuff i think could be relevant/useful

-Hard drive i'm trying to copy everything to is a UnionSine portable hard drive, 320GB
-Console does still continue to the OPL menu normally if i don't plug in any storage or if i use the old flash drive
-I think it does use an old OPL version at 1.0.0, i see there is a slightly newer version on the GitHub but i haven't updated cause i'm not 100% how to
-I have tried deleting the config file via uLaunchELF and letting it reset but it didn't fix anything
-USBUtil doesn't show me any ISOs as being faulty

First of all, drop FAT32 and old OPL for exFAT and current 1.2.0 betas. And also remove "mc0:/OPL/conf_opl.cfg".

I suggest to use SAS apps and SAS configs. Then updating be like copy file from i.e USB, and psuPaste in root of mc.

I suggesting also to not using USB. It is damn slow. If you can, buy MMCE i.e PSXMCG2.
