4.88 was working fine practically without any issues. It allows PSN login with ps3-updatelist.txt. IMHO 4.88 is a better option than recommend HEN users to update to 4.89.

That may have been a more feasible option early on, but at this stage, we already hammered out most of the issues, fixed many things, and improved code and resources to handle the current firmware, and that feels like quite a step backwards.

If a 4.90 gets released in the near or far future, I think we have a better setup just moving forward, IMHO.

Let me explain this a bit better to show you what i mean when i said one of the strings is "downgraded" and "pointless"

The resume of the story is... from firmware 1.00 up to 4.78 sony was using the branding "Sony Computer Entertainment" (located in several places of the PS3 firmware, and probably the firmware of other PlayStations), as example, this image is used by the coldboot (inside custom_render_plugin.rco)

But in firmware 4.80 they changed all the apparences of "Sony Computer Entertainment" by "Sony Interactive Entertainment"... in other words, they changed that image of the coldboot... and it seems they changed the text from inside explore_category_game.rco too

I mean... the fact that the explore_category_game.rco used in the HEN installers is using the branding "Sony Computer Entertainment" (instead of the modern "Sony Interactive Entertainment" introduced in 4.80+) means that the explore_category_game.rco was taken from a 4.78 firmware or older

It doesnt represents any problem, is just a detail in a single text string, but right now (if you conpare the rco with the official) it represents a "custom edit" that needs to be made to the rco to "downgrade" that text
You know.. is better to dont do it, to simplify the manteinance of future HEN versions

It's working fine now after the 3.1.1 fix. But in order to get the new smooth, almost freeze-less experience, you have to remove the remnants of HEN 3.1.0 by reinstalling HFW then HEN 3.1.1. Haven't had one console freeze since then. :tears of joy:
 
Hi , I'm having some problems with PS3 HEN 4.89 , It keeps crashing when i enable it , It's like it keeps enabling forever ..
I didn't find any solution on YouTube . Please help me and If you need me to send you a video i will do.
 
Hello everyone and thank you for the work.

I have been trying unsuccessfully since yesterday to upgrade my ps3 to 4.89.

During the installation a message at the end I have this famous message: I have to restart my ps3 with this error code checkmemory 000000008df8.

Who would have an idea of the problem? thank you

post a video if you like. There should be no reason for the crashing. You are on HFW 4.89 and are using **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) site to install?

This just means that HEN did not initialize properly. That value is checked by HEN before launching, and if not correct, it will fail. You can try reopening browser and trying again, or just reboot ps3 and try again.

its best to either set HEN Installer/Enabler to home page, or use history/bookmarks and have blank page default home in browser. You can also use the alternate installer if you are having problems, which just requires an additional step to install
 
Ok I tried all that before but it didn't change anything.

I think I'll just give up in 4.88.

For the moment I don't have too many worries except to launch The Last of us...

I'm on HFW 4.89 and I got HEN from **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) site
It sometimes works and sometimes not
I will try to post a video
 
I update to HFW 4.89.1 , i did rebuild data

And everything on XMB has gone: Games + App

Except HEN it can be activated againd.

Multiman dissapeared but not webman plugin inly the app on XMB.

I update back to OFW and did a rebuild but still and tried HFW again but games and app don't show up on XMB.

The game and app files still on folder "game" so its not deleted only dissapeared.
I tried install few pkgs , it appear nornmally on XMB but after rebuild data everything dissapear except HEN

Any solution?

.Después de que HEN se habilite desde la web (instalación inicial), si tiene Internet lento y puede acceder a otro menú xmb (Configuración de red) y presionar el círculo para cancelar, la interfaz de usuario no será correcta y se quedará atascado en el menú si intenta volver al mismo menú nuevamente, forzando un reinicio para solucionarlo. Si ingresa a un menú diferente, el xmb seguirá funcionando pero la superposición seguirá estando en la parte superior.

Hola por que no puedo habilitar hen actualize y después de que reinicie la consola se queda paralizada en activando hen

Hola después de que actualize hfw a 4.89 al momento de que reinicie y quise activar HEN se queda congelado que solución habrá, saludos
 
Het Everyone i recently updated my ps super slim from 4.88 to 4.89 and installed latst hen but now my the notification box on top right corner it is stretched and a big box comes when i log in to user account and nothing is written on it the notification box is stretched and when i log in it says user logged in now in 4.89 it is not written tel me solution plz

After i decide to get ps3 4k pro mod and I got trouble like : Text display , Notifications ( system_plugin.rco i think )
I was so dumb and forgot that the update has some changes and I also forgot that ps3 4k mod changes some files ..
What shall I do?
Shall I change the system_plugin.rco or whatever is it or just I'm dead lol

I think @LuanTeles is updating that mod at some point. I am unsure of anything that he has modified, so I cannot offer any advice other than waiting for an update to that 4k pro mod, if that's what you want to use.

this is after hen installed and you rebooted, using both official hfw and hen?

If so, you can post screenshots, or also try new user profile or reset settings. There shouldnt be any weird artifacts on xmb, unless sony broke something else lol
