Due to some screw-ups on my part, I need to reinstall my collection to my HDD. I've used WinHIIP for this in the past, but I understand now that this can cause problems (and, in fact, did cause some problems for me, thus the reinstall), so I'm trying to switch to hdl_dump. I'm comfortable with the command line, I downloaded what I think is the latest from this site, but I've been looking through the docs and I have some questions. Note that this will be done through a direct USB connection to a Windows 10 PC, as my HDD adapter isn't network-capable.
- The link from this site says it was last updated in 2015. Is there a later version I should use?
- I didn't see an hdl_dump.list file in the ZIP archive, and my Google searches don't seem to be turning up useful results. Is there another place I should be getting this file?
- Is there a good source for list.ico, del.ico, and icon.sys files? I get the sense that these need to be done per-game, but I'd rather not duplicate the effort if people have already done these.
- I have about 60 games. I see that there are a number of batch scripts available: do they support per-game icons, or is that not something people really do much of?
