PS3 Tales of Vesperia -- English Translation

Over at www.talesofvesperia.net Game Mod Developer Pikachu025 and team have recently just finished and released the PS3 English-Translation Patch to the popular Japanese title of Tales of Vesperia. This patch is for PlayStation CFW User's and because of the PS3 Region Free Comparability you can purchase a copy of this game on the net easily[break]s[/break] and apply this patch and hopefully learn a bit of Japanese in the process while enjoying this new Patch for English PS3 CFW user's. I am finally proud to present to you our finished translation patch for the PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia.

This translation comes in two variations:
The Online Translation Guide -- If you intend to just use the online reference, click the link above and enjoy.
The Patch - Otherwise, you can download the patching tool on the main page after reading the information there carefully.

Do I need a Japanese PS3 to use this patch?
No. Any console of any region will be able to play the game in English.

What do I need for this patch?
A PS3 that has not been updated beyond official firmware version 3.55 and/or can run homebrew. A retail copy of Tales of Vesperia for the PS3. A Windows PC to run the patching tool. The patching tool itself.

I am using a custom firmware above 3.55 on my PS3. Will this patch work?
Yes. As long as you can run homebrew you should be good.

My PS3 has been updated past official firmware version 3.55. What can I do?
We recommend that you use the Online Translation Guide instead. As of the release of the patch, there are no known legit methods of downgrading a PS3 using only software. There are websites out there claiming that you can, but those are more than likely frauds attempting to install malware on your computer.

The text does not fit right on screen. What's wronng?

If your font looks like in the latter screenshot, you have failed to patch your EBOOT.BIN. Please ensure it is actually patched before you make any bug reports!


Wait, what happened to R3volution?
IIt didn't work out, for both time and technical reasons. It's unfortunate, but it wasn't worth holding up the patch even longer for a tool that may or may not ever exist.

Yea I already played this when it was like 85% and it was great as all the Tales of series. Good stuff here and nice to see so many translations on the PS3.

 

i've patched my game with the text translation patch,also got the battle and cutscenes in english audio too after some dabbling,still not the audio for the skits but got the english audio movie folder from the xbox360 version as .mp4. anyone know how to convert these to working .dat files so i can stick em in the movie folder on my jap ver?

EDIT: Sorted it with RAD tools.
