PS2 [Testers Needed] Open PS2 Loader with ZSO support (compressed ISO)

ziso and maxcso are programs. You need ZSO header and image compressed by LZ4. CISO is not supported and this is default compression used in maxcso.

I was referring to this software for compressing ISOs . I was under the impressing that both ziso and maxcso are using the proper "codec" . Am i wrong ?

haunting ground needs 24 sector cache to eliminate FMV stutter

and parappa the rapper needs sector cache at 8 to boot

tested with OPL 1922... i'm not going to update because GSM is broken, and I only have a couple ZSO's on my usb

Wow how did i miss that ?
Old good CSOs:sfun oldguy:

Question, is there any way to create a partition bigger than 128GBs ? I wanted to fit them all in one partition.:sco hmmthink:

Talking about internal HDD.

ZSO. Internal HDD.

Almost all games require mode 1.
GT4 with mode 1 video stutters and inputs don't work, no further testing is possible. Mode mode 1 has to be disabled to run videos at normal speed.

Is there any chance in the future to not require games to be played with mode 1?

Harddrive prices dropped significantly, so i guess i buy SATA adapter and 1TB drive and forget ZSO. :\
Because loading speed penalty with mode 1 is annoying and introduces additional compatibility issues. :)

@mimi

Have you tried Mode 6 on GT4?

If I may ask, what data is being compressed with the ZSO format? I looked through some compressed games in HxD and was able to find uncompressed data such as the ELF file (7F454C46).

hello i test some games in zso format on my ps2 using the mx4sio but from my testing results videos lag more in the mx4sio usin zso format, the games only boot with mode 1 activated, havent test on usb but in my case that i use mx4sio games lag more in zso.

Which OPL build? BDM4?
actually i use this version OPNPS2LD-v1.2.0-Beta-1968-1b8efe7 think is the new bdm4, making more test with a usb drive and zso load faster, but plug in a mx4sio performance is worst. im using a 90001 slim ps2 with Funtuna.

Basically any data within the ISO that's already compressed or doesn't make sense to be compressed (compressing it doesn't gain anything). So yeah you're gonna see chunks of raw data. Most compressed formats support these so called NC Areas (Non-Compressed Areas), such as the CSO/ZSO standard, DAX (version 1) and JSO.
