I don't know why Sony simply didn't do this... instead of make it look like a mix of Wii-router

BTW It's a fact: white plastic turn yellow in 2-3 years ;)
"Exposure to visible light, extreme temperatures, humidity or exposure to solvents can also cause a polymer to fail over time. When it comes to yellowing, however, UV light is often the primary culprit."

if only the series x was more phallic shaped, but even then it seems to be too big to fit into the ps5. both designs are pretty bad.

This is actually a broader problem with gaming industry as it becomes more & more $$$ centric while innovation & creativity continue to shrink.

Suppose you have a popular game, specially an open world game like GTA. You make enough $$$ on it for few years. After few years, you repackage the game with new graphics & some additional features, and relaunch it for newer audience which will enjoy & buy it again just like the older audience of the original game. The company makes $$$ again on same product. Then some years down the line, you repackage the game once again, for newer audience. Again making $$$.

That's why i hate remakes (with some exceptions). Gaming audience is a continuous supply of consumers. I played Resident Evil 2 when i was young. But 20 years later, the same game can be repackaged to sell to new generation audience with better graphics & additional features.

Depend of used material. I have Wacom tablet (graphical tablet of course, not playtoy like iPad or something on Android ;]) bought many years ago and it is still white like in the day when I unwrapped it.

Well, personally I doubt Sony would use such good quality plastic (especially when PS3 slims are cost reduction on i.e buttons and my PS4 Slims makes scratch noises and it have none equal/linear stand points) but hey, that's just technologically possible. In worst scenario, still is possible to restore it like C64 from smokers house to his white glory. :D

Did older White PS2's, PS3's and PS4's turn yellow? If not then I don't think no one has to worry about that problem.

They used a different plastic composition starting with the PSOne then moving into the PS2 and PS3 era, although the 1000 Series PSPs would turn yellowish on the back and the Ceramic White Phat PS3s would yellow a bit on the I/O Panel, and the PS2 Controllers also would Yellow from use, never seen a PS3 DUALSHOCK3 yellowing, nor any White PS1/PS2/PSX or PS3 shell yellowing with use,my guess is that they used a different ABS composition on the Consoles shell to prevent it from yellowing, although thats just my unproven point, with the PS5 people don't need to be paranoid about yellowing as the chances are slim to none.

I read somewhere that outer white shells will be removable & customizable. Game companies may offer customized outer flaps with their own drawings of game art.

I have black PSP/PS2/PS3/PS4 and they are still black.

My beige DualShock3 was white when I bough it :)
My beige Sony Vaio laptop was white too.
Many other of my yellow devices (modem, phones, routers, computer cases) were white.

Curiously my white XBOX360 and controller are still white ;)

I only hope that they don't use the same plastic used to make the Vaio laptops.
