toggled cobra - can't start webmanmod

Hi,

I just installed the evilnat 4.87 cfw with cobra on my ps3 (fat 160gb model) and it was all working until the disc drive stopped reading physical discs in multiman or xmb. I decided to have a look and enable the "toggle cobra" shortcut in webmanmod's settings and now I can't load webmanmod or multiman as both just freeze up. Have i broken my system? It boots fine but I just need a way of re-enabling cobra. the shortcut doesn't work now and rebug toolbox doesn't seem to load either (it didn't beforehand)

reinstall evilnat cfw. i think that will reset cobra.
 
Have just done it, thanks very much, that solved it. I still can't get discs to read through xmb or multiman so i'm not sure what's going on there. before installing webmanmod they worked fine
 
Ok, I installed ferrox cfw instead and then reinstalled webmanmod, then I could see the nobd patch option. It was already unticked so I ticked and unticked then saved. Still no luck, the disc drive won't read discs still

i have one fat that sometimes won't read discs unless i let it run 10 or 15 minutes and restart. it has to warm up i guess. i also have a superslim that has stopped and started reading again repeatedly with clear reason why.

there are two lasers in the drive...one for bluray movies and ps3 games. the other is for cd and dvds. have you tried playing a dvd movie or music cd?

have you also tried going back to the previous cfw you had before upgrading to evilnat 4.87?

just tried a dvd - that isn't read either.


I will now try and revert back to 4.86 or something, it was working fine on 4.87 for a little bit but has suddenly stopped working.
 
going back to ferrox 4.86.1 hasn't fixed it so at this point i'm guessing it might just be a hardware failure. :-(
 
holy crap. I just took my ps3 apart, took the disc drive out, took the cover off the disc drive to look at the internals because it sounded like there was something rattling inside.

Opened it up and there was a 1p coin inside. Took that out and now it works perfectly! i only just got this console and i wonder if the previous owner sold it because of this. feel really good now lol

thanks for all the help, this has been a learning opportunity for me!
