PS3 Trimming PS3 Discs DATA "PKGDIR"

I read a bit here and I'm doing the PS3RIP tool but I'm curious about games that come with EXTRAs like demos. I have Dead Space and it comes with "EA Demos" that's located in
Dead Space [BLUS30177]\PS3_GAME\PKGDIR
is it OK to delete PKGDIR or does something on the disc tell ps3 this should be there?

Sometimes it has entire games or dlc's inside. For example the disc of Killzone 2 from Killzone Trilogy, that has installation pkg of Killzone 1. Or, Borderlands 2 Game of the Year Edition that has DLCs inside.

i made sure to read the SFO+PNGs before deleting

If you install any of those pkgs before deleting them, you can still save space by deleting the actual pkgs after.

Nah I just deleted the ones that are demos or digital manuals. im keeping the dlc stuff just for the sake of preservation on my end.

These folders can be deleted safely:
- PS3_UPDATE
- PS3_EXTRA (check if there is some content that you want from there)

There many games are multi-language. The content for other languages can be replaced with an empty file (0 byte) keeping the same file name to avoid file not found errors. Generally the files that consume more space a BIK, PSARC and files in folders like French, Italian, Spanish or files with sufixes like _it, _fr, _de, _sp, _ru, etc.

Some big story videos can be replaced with shorter videos used for intros.

found in KILLZONE3 that PS3RIP left some 3D files but it didnt detect them due to being _3D.BIK instead of _3D.bik

-I forgot to ask but what is the gb stand for? seems like its a language that's not in all games
