PS3 Trophy Sync error 80022D00 (the revenge)

Hi everyone!. Sorry for the lousy title, but I'm trying to laugh so I don't destroy my PS3, TV and everything that came across.

Situation: I'm on CFW 4.88.2 Evilnat, PS3 Slim 2501B, with webMAN MOD and the console activated on PSN.

I've synced my trophies in order to replay Red Dead Redemption GOTY (got almost every online trophies back in the day with my brother), everything went perfect (no bans, no issues, no blocks).

Then I've started playing the campaign, always offline as usual. Got most of the story trophies (over 15) and decided to sync them, just in case. And then it happened: error 80022D00.

The me from the past got some insights about it, but this time there was no tampering on the trophies. Ironically, I've manually set the dates a couple of dates into the future and the sync went perfectly!.

Conclusion: I'm starting to think that error 80022D00 is related to dates and the timezone:
  • Last trophy sync date.
  • RTC date (as @Berion kindly pointed out).
  • PSN server date.
  • PSN Account country location (it was created with Spain as my country, now I'm living in Argentina so there are 5 hours of time difference between the two).
  • System date (?).

The PSN Trophy system is totally broken, at least on the PS3 part. I played fair and got screwed, but if I cheat everything is nice. Anyway, that's pretty much it.

My last resort would be to create a new account and start screwing around with the dates again, but I really don't want to.

Hope someone got another idea of this. Thank you all!

Cheers!.

Well folks, I give up!. This error appeared once again after I platinum Red Dead Redemption (after an aweful online sesion in order to get those shitty online only trophies).

So, as I couldn't find any information on this error but I assume it is related to trophies by the number range, I will mark my old PSN account as "corrupt" and will delete it.

A shame because I got lots of trophies alongside my little brother (good times), and some of them were extremely hard to get if not impossible.

Anyway, sorry for me whining over here but I'm frustrated, exhausted and burned out. Will try to get my brother's account and start earning trophies there, as lots of game servers shutted down years ago making online only trophies unachievable these days.

You don't need to apologise for whining about this, you are reporting a perfectly valid problem seemingly causing the loss of trophies & whatever added complications, a situation any user would wish to avoid at all cost.

This happened with no tampering of any kind? No patches of trophies, no unofficial act.dat, no idps spoofing, no game patches... in other words everything PSN related was legit?

Thank you @bguerville, it's just that I got so angry at one point that I've wanted to throw the console out of the window.

Regarding your questions, I'll respond:
  • This happened with no tampering of any kind?: There was some tampering at first for a couple of trophies, but after that I could sync trophies as usual, legitly earning them while playing. Didn't have any issues in months of playing, synced perfectly fine every time. Just recently, I've started to note some of my games reseted to 0%, which I've solved by resync again. And last time, error 80022D00 started happening again and couldn't earn trophies anymore.
  • No patches of trophies: No patches at all, I don't like to mess around with game's EBOOT (more problems than fun).
  • No unofficial act.dat: Only official act.dat. Sometimes I've had to replace the file with a backup because my console appeared deactivated in my PSN account.
  • No idps spoofing: Original IDPS as my PS3 is not banned.
  • No game patches: No patches, all clean.

In conclusion, DON'T FOOL AROUND WITH TROPHIES (not only on PS3, but on the Vita as well).

P.S.: I don't know if this is useful, but my account is really really old, created before the PS3 era. I've earned some trophies with it on my brother's PS3 (circa 2009) and returned to it with my refurbished Slim PS3 with CFW. I don't remember activating my brother's PS3 on my account, but there is a chance that I didn't do it, maybe "breaking" the validation altogether.

The lack of documentation and logs on error 80022D00 is what troubles me.

Hmmm...
You are only confirming something we have known for some time, the slightest mistake made when messing with trophies can have fatal & unpleasant consequences.
Hard to say what really happened in your case but what I found interesting in your report is the difference in behaviour when changing the system clock time, that sounds like the core of the issue..

Indeed, I knew what I was getting into by touching those files. But it was very weird that everything worked without issues until recently. Oddly enough, if you set trophies with a date set in the future, you can sync them without issues. That confirms (?) that the validation process doesn't consider the PS3 internal clock, nor the system time and date, nor the PSN server date, just the checksum and encryption hash (PSID, Console ID, NPAID, user number and some other value that I don't remember).

On the other hand, I hope that my CR2032 battery isn't dying out. I didn't even remove it while cleaning the console, applied thermal paste, etc. so everything should be as it was from the factory.

Hi there! Maybe I found a solution... I got the same error code after unlocking 2 online trophies + platinum for GT5 with Apollo Save Tool. And I got another issue, cause I got all trophies but the game was not 100% at the XMB. I suspected that the % issue was because I unlocked 3 trophies with 1 DB rebuild. So I relocked the 3 trophies that Apollo told me was not synced and rebuilt the DB. After that I unlocked 1 trophy for each rebuild. This way I got the % issue solved. But the sync error code, was still there... So I just turn off the PS3 during the rebuild to corrupt the DB. After that PS3 force me another rebuild. And I got my trophies up on PSN. I think this info could be good for Bucanero. Another info for him, it is hard to find the red sync icon over that greek background. His Artemis has a much better color scheme.

Changing system clock in XMB settings are fine. I have several time did it because some trophies in some games are related to specific date & time and was possible because games doesn't read RTC (i.e in Flower). If You did change time saved in RTC (how?) then it is a problem, or a problem with tinkering on a PC (but why it works and now doesn't is a mystery, as it is not logical from our current knowledge perspective).

Another thing which came to my mind: did You use the same NP Account ID? Trophies can be mixed with "empty" and but only one real. If You mixed three of them or two real, then it is source of unexpected problems. NP Account ID can be changed via fake activation in Apollo (?) or probably turning on option called Fake Save Data Owner in dex vsh.

Spoofing IDPS also breaking trophies if You mix them.

BTW: Artemis was designed to be "green". ;] Yet @bucanero wasn't happy with it (unreadable UX on bad set/bad matrix LCDs) and changed it to "orange". Yet I didn't change the rest to match new look because of broken gfx lib, and for now this UX stuck in limbo, so consider it as unfinished (because of Tiny3D flaws, bugs in PNG handling, changes in GUI option mapping (it was designed to handle only saves) etc.). I still want back to this project but without native 1080p and especially without 16K colours reduction and 8bit in alpha channel is a thing which making this task pointless (because no matter what, it will not looks good). Maybe someone will fix for us Tiny3D in future.
