Hi everyone

I've joined this forum due to other forums being completely useless in getting technical help. Any replies are from immature idiots obsessed with memes or stupid jokes. I'm over it I just need to know how to fix the issues I'm having.

Now Im still fairly new to PS3 homebrew scene, it's quite confusing to the newcomer installing one thing on top of another. I've got a PS3 with HEN 3.3.0 and if I go to system information it says I have version 4.91. there's also a option saying HFW exploit. Once I tried installing Evilnat (custom firmware?) but I don't think it was successful. I have to enable HEN everytime I want to run a homebrew app. The things I have installed is mmCM, IRISMAN, manaGUNZ, PS2 Classics Placeholder and Retroarch. Ok so that should cover background information for context.

Now the issue I'm having is with Retroarch is a very frustrating issue. It like only half works. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling afresh with the exact same results.

No matter what I try I cannot create playlists. When I scan it never registers anything the only way for me to play games is to start each one manually. Which is fine I don't mind as long as I can actually use the software to play emulated games I'm happy. But I'm not happy because I've mainly been using it to play GBC games, the only core that works is Gearboy 3.1.1. However it only works sometimes at best, that's right sometimes it works (very rarely) but most of the time it just returns me to the XMB. Other cores work even worse and get stuck on a black screen or freeze.

By the way it worked most consistently when I first installed it. I was switching between different Gameboy games with that core and it always worked. Now after I spent a few hours playing for some reason now it doesn't work for the most part. I've got it to work once after it stopped working but then the issue returned again. One important note is some other cores work fine. I haven't tried barely any of them but the Cave Story core works great, I was having fun playing that. That's never not worked for me but I've only loaded it half dozen times or so.

I got laughed at when I tried to ask for help on other forums on Discord and even banned. I look forward to getting some real help from this forum. Just from browsing previous posts I can see this forum is full of intelligent, knowledgeable people that want to help other gamers enjoy their PlayStation to the fullest.

Thankyou in advance for your help

For some reason Retroarch is not downloading thumbnails? I've got two (hacked) ROMs for the GBC that is recognised by RA, it was on the list of approved recognised ROMs. I made sure by checking CRC32 number and it registered them to a list.

So I have two games in my Gameboy Color list, one is Oracle of Seasons (GBA enhanced hack) and Oracle of Ages (GBA enhanced hack). When I try to download thumbnails for it nothing happens. When I press the confirm button and it acts like nothing happened.

The other issue I'm having is having achievements register. I have created a retro achievements profile and entered my login details into RA. When I'm playing OoS I try to look what achievements are available for the game and there is none. Why? Maybe because it's GBA enhanced hack it's not recognised? If so that sucks if I have to play a non enhanced version to be able to get achievements. Why would I play a downgraded version of the game just for that? Those jerks at retro achievements should know that. Make it available for the GBA enhanced version! Or maybe the core isn't recognised? Im using Gamebatte as the good core and the other cores don't even work at all. The good Gameboy core called Gearboy doesn't work or at least not all the time. I cannot predict when it works but it's very rare.

Some help please gents?
