I have spent several hours trying to figure out why my PS2 wont read data from the SSD I bought. Here is my current status:
Equipment:
Equipment:
- My PS2 is model SCPH-39001
- I have tried both a Kaico SATA adapter as well an an OEM Network Adapter with SATA Mod
- 500GB SSD - exFAT formatted with the OPL required file directory (DVD and CD directories with games in them)
- FCMB Memory card with v1.966
- When I open HDD Manager in uLaunchElf, HDD Manager sees there is an HDD present but that it's not formatted properly, which is correct.
- If I use HDDManager to format the drive that seems to work.
- I have tested the latest two version of the Grimdoomer OPL build. I have verified that HDD is enabled in the Block Devices menu. In each case, OPL can successfully launch games from a USB drive, but nothing is found when trying to read from the hard drive.
- I have tested v1.1.2 of NHDDL, using version 1.6 of Neutrino. The results are the same as OPL - I can read from a USB drive but not the hard drive. If I launch NHDDL without a USB drive, I get a "No Devices Found" error.
- I have actually tested two different Kaico adapters, and two different OEM network adapters to rule out a hardware issue.
- I have opened up my PS2 and tested fuses PS2, PS7, PS9, PS10 and PS16 for continuity, as these are the fuses responsible for communication with the network adapter.
- I tried using MX4SIO as an alternative, but was very unhappy with how much stuttering occurs during FMV's. Most of the games I play are more narrative in nature.
