PS3 Trying to create a rap file for my DLC

So first things first, I will state the fact that for 3 days already(10-15 hours a day and going on 4 days now), I have been searching all over Google for what I'm about to ask help for and will continue to search until I either find the proper answer or someone replies here with what I need. I don't want to keep searching for answers that are outdated mostly due to dead links, pre-HEN or very bad explanations that make their process useless to me.

Also have to ask, is there something wrong with Aldo's site? Because I think he has the tool I'm looking for but I can't get anywhere on his site other than the main page.

Here's my very regretful decision and problem. I found a PS3 several days ago that my girlfriend has and wanted to play Black Ops 1 to take me back to the old days. I lost the disc somewhere and decided to buy the game. I, feeling like a kid a week before Christmas, decided to buy the digital version instead of the disc even though I knew a disc would be the best for me. I installed it, was happy and played it. I bought the dlc 10+ years ago and wanted to play the zombie map but the DLC was bought on a forgotten account. I don't have money, so what do I do? I go online and find that I can get the DLCs from very nice people for free.

So, I HEN the PS3 and downloaded the DLC. I follow the instructions on how to install it and do it exactly how it should be done. I start the game and find that the DLC is not playable. A little exploring in the PS3 HDD(dev_hdd0/game) later, I find that my digital version of black ops is installed as NPUB30584 and not BLUS30591 which is the DLC and the appropriate version for my region. Now if you know where or can find the DLC for NPUB, that would be a nice shortcut for me and fix my problem directly but I've looked enough to end up trying to convert the BLUS into NPUB.

I'm sure you understand now what I'm trying to do. I converted the .pkg file properly into NPUB and now I'm just left with the BLUS .rap file and this is where I'm stuck. I can't seen to find any tools that have working links that do RAP2RIF or RIF2RAP or one that creates a RIF from my act.dat + idps + .edat + .rap. If I find something explaining how to do it, the download link/links are dead or the instructions are outdated or they explain it like as if a 4 year old was typing for them with no links provided.

There you have it, I need a .rap for a DLC that can't be found online and ONLY want to use my paid copy of the game instead of easily fixing the issue by using a pirated backup.

I know this post is longer than it should or can be but if you reached this sentence, Congratulations! You're someone that actually cares and wants to help or needs the same help I do.
 
I'm sorry but what you are asking goes against our rules here. Your best bet is to try to recover your old account so you can dl the dlc you own. We are against piracy here .
 
Oh, I wasn't expecting that. Considering I own it on that account from 10+ years ago. In fact, thanks for reminding me but I believe I still have the hard drive somewhere from my old phat one. If I can't be helped with this, then am I able to just plug the old hard drive into the new slim PS3 and play or does it require me to upgrade the firmware to be compatible with the slim?

You will need the eID root key to get the data off the HDD. Otherwise once you plug it in the system will erase that if you are referring to the internal HDD.
 
I'm glad I read your comment cause I found a broken slim model, to my surprise cause I forgot about it, and I think the hard drive in it is for my phat model. It's possible I already erased it by plugging it in to the broken slim and booted it up years ago but if it didn't then I already put it in my working slim and was just 1 press of a button from turning it on.

So my phat model is long dead from the yellow light of death. Am I able to plug the hard drive into my PC and extract the contents from it? And yes it's internal
 
It's easier to try to recover your old account, login with it on your new PS3 and download your DLC, than trying to retrieve your DLC from another PS3 HDD.
 
It would be easier except I don't remember the email other than it being a yahoo email. It's one of those long lost accounts I have from when I was a kid. I'm almost sure I remember the username but even if I find out what the email, I don't have the password for the email. That's my situation. I have a few things I purchased on there so trust me, I'd rather recover my account than try to use HEN with risk of getting console ban.

You cannot get banned if you use PSN from OFW & you can easily reinstall OFW temporarily then go back to HFW & HEN when you are done with PSN.

Anyway to generate a rap file from a license file you need the rif license file, the act.dat from the user profile used to generate the rif license & the console idps (assuming you never spoofed idps). If you have all that, you can use a rif2rap tool (search the forum & the resources section).

But if the console is dead & you don't have rif & act.dat files backed up, you have no alternative but to extract them from the ps3 hdd.
For that you need the eid_root_key to decrypt the contents of the /dev_hdd0 partition. Without it, you are stuck, there is no available tool that can extract the eid_root_key from a dead console.
Moreover, even if you have the eid_root_key, you will also need to extract the idps from the console's Flash memory if you don't have it backed up.

If (and only if) you really own the DLC, morally I don't see that much problem in acquiring the rap file online (if you know where to find it) even if that redistribution is not strictly speaking legal, it would not really be piracy as it would not impact anyone (or anyone's purse) at all. Moreover it is also s#ny's fault for failing to provide simpler & more efficient ways to manage purchased contents & licenses, without having to reinstall everything & generate new licenses, all from their servers.
From now on though, I would recommend always backing up all important files & data to avoid running into the same situation in the future.
