PS3 [Tutorial] (Read Warning) Installing Red Ribbon Linux on Rebug 4.81.2 - 4.84.2 D / REX

Does anyone have a CEX firmware that allocates more space than 22GB? I have a 1TB hard drive and I'd like to allocate most of it's space to OtherOS++. I don't have a hardware flasher and I don't want to risk bricking my PS3 by even trying to make my own firmware.

i bricked one. i don't recommend it.

i seem to remember seeing some pups somewhere that reserved a percent. 10, 25, and 50 i think. my memory is bad so maybe i am wrong. (they might have been older firmware versions.)

there is little benefit to installing to internal hard drive, IMHO. you would need a new modded pup to update system in the future. you must use your special pup if you need to reinstall cfw. otherwise, your partition gets wiped.

i don't know what you need all that space for either, but that ain't none of my business. :)

I installed petitboot on my 4.90 evilnat cechg04 and after going through 15 kernel panics in petitboot, i finally managed to run the hdd region script, but it only allocated 256mb to the partition, any way to fix that to have the full 22GB?

What do You mean by not see? Doesn't listing it or doesn't mounting it? ps3dd is partition for Linux if You installing OtherOS on internal drive (not only bootloader in dev_flash4 but system on HDD). It is possible that multipath-tools not support other partitions and sub-partitions than base, I dunno, blind shot. Or if You didn't installed Linux on internal HDD, You simply do not have ps3dd, at least formatted. What lsblk returning?
the same thing happens to me asking me to reinitialize the drive because it has an "error"? im still looking for a solution but i also think it might not even be possible as for Model Citizen was possible because hes on a 3.15 ofw ps3 fat meanwhile im on a ps3 slim downgraded to 4.81 rebug.

I have ps3 slim CECH2003B. I have installed petitboot using rebug toolbox but every time i open otheros it goes to black screen. When i turn ps3 off and open safe mode petiboot shows up. If i press boot GameOS it goes to black screen again and i can fix by going into safe mode and pressing restart system. Also i cannot boot any distro (tried red ribbon and fedora 12) it just goes to black screen. I have the distros on my usb (I dont want to install to hdd). Can someone help me with this?

Ok so after I launch otheros from rebug toolbox and im on the black screen I can press the up arrow twice and press enter to boot GameOS (GameOS boots I can hear the startup sound but its black screen lol) confirming that the boot otheros option works kinda. I think this might be a video issue or something and I think its the same case when I launch red ribbon, it does open up but the video out doesnt work. Does anybody know how to fix this?

I have NAND and was wondering if the dtbimage.ps3.bin.minimal needs this exact file name for proper flashing or if this needs to be renamed to just dtbimge.ps3.bin? I ask because in a few other guides I checked, some said It had to be renamed first.

Has anyone successfully flashed Linux On NAND and if so how? Following guide exactly or any different steps? Use need files (no renameing)? Trying to avoid brick. No hw flasher.
