Yes, I'm sure it works. But imagine if you wrote that FMCB worked on all SCPH-90004 PS2s - people who have the wrong SCPH-90004 will be scratching their heads, wondering why it wouldn't work. You need to be clear that for such a case, we need the right modchip and additional software (not part of FMCB).

If you don't know, there are some SCPH-90004 models that will support FMCB, without a modchip. The 04 in SCPH-90004 is just the region (Europe), which is not related to the model of PS2.

But don't worry too much! I wrote about it, just for completeness.

Theoretically you should be able to do it also with remote controller.
SCPH-10420 have power on\off button:

SCPH-10150 don't have it, so this model will not help:

Not all models supports IrDA, especially models below SCPH-5000X,
so you'll need additional receiver for them like in 2nd image.

All SLIM models have got IrDA receiver.

Hi I have a Playstation2 of slim model SCPH 90004 which is modded (MATRIX INFINITY)
My laser disc is not working now , but i can play games using pendrive and ps2 memory card.
My question is i dont have ulaunchelf FILE browser to copy data from pendrive to ps2memory card and from memory card to pendrive
I have tried many different methods like converting ulaunchelf iso file using USBUTILL and when i insert the pendrive in playstation nothing comes up .
Can someone here help me out to use file browser in ps2 ...

Well i i know what you can do and its the only solution you have to run a game in opl called 007 agent under fire and make changes in the iso of the game and you will find a driving.elf in it you have to put ulaunch instead of it for more details find a video on YouTube on how to softmod a ps2 slim after replacing the elf file convert iso using util put it in flash drive run it get to 2nd mission and volla u will boot into ulaunch .elf now you can do all sort of copying and pasting what i recommend is putting ulaunch in boot folder of mem card if you have matrix infinity installed and renaming it boot so that it can run on startup or by pressing r1 its not simple if you have any issue you can always mail me [email protected]

Well i can make a detailed tutorial how this will work for the guy evn if he lives in a cave with no need of another mans console to make his memory card bootable

Hi everyone,
I know I am quite late to the party...I was having the same problem a few days ago and specs of my ps2 are same as OP described.

Arjun Pandit did suggest a good way to install ulaunchelf, however there is a much easier way and do not require any iso modification.

But you still would require a memory card with OPL on it just like user's situation to boot from usb.

Method:

Just download the rar file: mediafire.com/file/2qp3n4mne82hcmo/uLaunchELF_v4.12_DVD.rar/file
(can't write it as link)

After unzipping you will get an iso file, now put it in DVD folder of USB and rename the .iso in proper format just like any other game(you can take reference from tutorials on youtube on the proper way to put any ps2 iso in the USB).

Now open the OPL and BOOM you would be able to see the ulaunchelf file listed as a game.

Now just run it and you have all the power to do whatever you want!!

Note that I cannot confirm whether this method would work on non-modded versions or not...mine was modded with matrix infinity.
If opl works on non-modded versions then this method should definitely work otherwise the best possible way would be to go for a FREEMCBOOT or installation via DVD/CD (if fortunately the laser is intact and working).
