I'm very new to this scene but am very interested. Long story short I bought two PS3 PHATs with the hopes of at least one Frankie and to gain some experience with hardware/PCBs (hell of a place to dive into it.) One of them, a B01 was practically brand new with only two weeks uptime. Did a repaste and clean just for safety. The other, A01, YLOD 3034 failure. I have no idea what firmware version this could be running; however, the B01 was on one very early (pre-3.5) so I would presume the A01 is as well. I know doing a 65nm/40nm is not possible unless on newer FW and am honestly unsure where to go from here. Thought about doing a reflow and praying the 90nm will survive long enough to update to modern firmware but other than that I have no idea. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
