Evilnat's unofficial Rebug 4.84.3 is basically Rebug 4.84.2 + Cobra 8.3 update (the official Rebug 4.84.2 has Cobra 8.1). You really only need it if you want to have both DEX mode and Cobra 8.3. Note that it's still based on 4.84 since no later version of the official DEX firmware has leaked online (heck, we're not even sure it exists). Is this still in Beta?
Been searching for it since I saw the post about @Evilnat making it, but I can't seem to find it, no matter how much I look.
Also:
What's the status for homebrew on 4.89?
Are everything good to go, or do some devs still need to update?

Thank you for the answers.
Been using 4.88.22 Evilnat since release since 4.89 was broken, but saw some posts about the modified Rebug 4.84.2 with Cobra 8.3. Wanted the option to switch and also add it to my CFW collection for preserving.
As for 4.89 I'll keep clear of it, until a fixed version emerges.

You might be speaking about the unofficial PUP repacked by devil last year?
https://www.psx-place.com/index.php?posts/299528
Since then Nat updated Cobra again though.
If you use the pup from devil above, I suppose you could just swap the stage2 file manually, there should be no brick risk involved as it uses the stage2 failsafe.
You can either do the swapping manually on PS3 after installing the unofficial PUP by devil, copy the file to /dev_flash/rebug/cobra and rename or delete the original OR on PC you could unpack the pup, swap the stage2 file, then repack the pup file with puadgui.
This reminds me that the Cobra/Mamba situation is getting confusing, we end up not knowing which repos we should use.
We should really have one active official repo for both IMHO, the owner matters not however it needs to be someone ready to process pull requests.
I know I said it before, but at some point, we will also need to merge the Cobra and HEN projects into one repo.
I never hinted we should merge cobra/hen with Mamba, I realise there are obstacles in the way, only Cobra and HEN because those should never have been released in separate repos in the first place.IMO it's very clear who is maintaining Cobra/Mamba/HEN nowadays.

Merge the 3 payloads into a single project technically is feasible due the 3 projects share 80% of the code. The remaining 20% is the difficult part due these reasons:
1- Each project have specific code depending its purpose. Merging the 3 conditions in a single module may result in a more complex project.
2- Each project has a different structure in certain modules. It would require a considerable effort to canonize them.
3- It would require a considerable amount to time to test again the outcome of resulting project.
4- Someone need to become the "owner" of the 3 projects. I mean a "change manager" that coordinate the deployment and future changes. It can be a single person or a team.
Maybe it would be easier to keep the "status quo" some kind of "wiki" or an article that link the 3 projects, and provide enough information about how to build each project, document the processes, etc. An article in this site could be used as "official" thread of discussion for this purpose.
I never hinted we should merge cobra/hen with Mamba, I realise there are obstacles in the way, only Cobra and HEN because those should never have been released in separate repos in the first place.
As to the situation being clear, I think it's clear for you, for me and a few experienced users and devs who follow these things, I don't think it's clear for anyone else.
Many payload versions currently released per CFW types and firmware version in separate repos and separate owners.
Whenever you push a pull request for one payload, all other repos remain untouched, etc.. and not all owners process the pull requests to begin with, some are retired, and even if they do, they might merge the changes differently or refuse some of them.
Imho that's called a messy situation which can only get worse with time.
A shame, you had the right idea, you are reliable and always available, those who didn't support that idea were wrong and short sighted imho.Around 2-3 years ago I tried to consolidate HEN, Cobra & Mamba in a single repo, but the support to this idea has been poor.
Sure BUT I don't really see major obstacles to a merge, moreover the more we wait, the more complicated it will get.Currently Cobra 8.3 and HEN have significative differences.
Is there a separate forum other than psx-place on which more detailed info is shared, can i join it also ?private developers forum
it is a part of psx-place that is limited to developers and staff. it is mostly for beta testing and for developers to help each other. it is not usually used often. Is there a separate forum other than psx-place on which more detailed info is shared, can i join it also ?
I also want to learn homebrew development for psp, vita, ps3 so can i also join itit is a part of psx-place that is limited to developers and staff. it is mostly for beta testing and for developers to help each other. it is not usually used often.
people do not join. it is automatic. if you have "Developer" in green text by your name, then you will see the sub-forum listed. to get "Developer" by your name, you must release a few things that you have made (like homebrews or PC tools) so that we can tell that you are legit.I also want to learn homebrew development for psp, vita, ps3 so can i also join it
