It's summer and you're bored; what do you do with that amount of free time? You create "Apollo", a new homebrew app for the PS3! :D

  • you might wonder... why is it called Apollo?
Apollo was the twin brother of Artemis, goddess of the hunt. Since this project was born using the Artemis-GUI codebase, I decided to respect that heritage by calling it Apollo.

So, without further ado, let's present Apollo:

Apollo Save Tool is an application to manage save-game files on the PlayStation 3.
The apollo-ps3 homebrew app allows to download, unlock, patch and resign save-game files directly on your PS3.

    Features:
    • Easy to use: no crypto-key configuration or advanced setup needed.
    • Standalone: no computer required, everything happens on the PS3.
    • Save files listing: quick access to all the save files on USB and the internal PS3 HDD (+ file details)
    • Save SFO unlocking: allows the user to remove the copy-lock flag, enabling transfer of Copying Prohibited save files.
    • Save files patching: supports Bruteforce Save Data and Game Genie cheat patches to enhance your save-games.
    • Save PFD resigning: allows the user to resign save files made by other users and consoles.
    • Save downloading: access to an Online Database of save-game files to download straight to your PlayStation.

maybe I'll just change the behavior and encrypt "my_file_name.ISO" to "/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/my_file_name.BIN.ENC"

IMHO it would be more convenient to use "my_file_name" + " [title id]" + ".BIN.ENC"
Example: /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/FFXII [SLUS_209.63].BIN.ENC

This format would be more user friendly and would include the title id needed by webMAN MOD to find the CONFIG in the database.

The title id can be obtained automatically reading the root directory of the ISO.

If the file name already contains a title id, the output file name could be "my_file_name.BIN.ENC"

I could've been doing something wrong, but I tried the latest 2 version of Apollo and it doesn't seem to make the saves work for the game. I then downloaded an older version from the beginning of 2020 with the old blue background. It worked like a charm. I'm not sure why the newer versions don't work, but I wanted to bring it to your attention.

could you specify what were you trying to do? resign a save-game? applying cheats?

also, are you using HEN, CFW, are you spoofing IDs,... there are a lot of variables, so it's hard to guess, but if you can share more details I can take a look

My daughter started a game called Sniper Elite 3 on my login so I was trying to transfer it over to her login. When I would remove or fake the account id and then resign, the game would say not the owner of the save file. However when I downgraded to the old blue version, all I had to do was click apply patches and resign and it worked. I'm on 4.84 DEX with my original CID. (Spoofed to CEX via webman)

my ps3 system is rebug 4.85.1 lite and it stuck at loading screen when i choose ''HDD save game'' (i'm using the latest Apollo version)

I see an issue there:

The "change account" option is an advanced option, it must not be used unless you know what you want to achieve (the same goes for the Remove Console ID option).
So for regular resigning, you shouldn't select anything, just open the save-game and select "apply changes + resign"

I'm pretty sure your issue is related to it.

Also, keep in mind that if your PS3 has 2 account ("A", and "B"), to resign a save for user "B", first you need to log in with the "B" account, and then run Apollo in that account.

if you run Apollo in the "A" account, saves will be resigned for "A", so if you then move the file to the "B" account it won't work, because it was resigned for "A" (not B)

hard to guess, so you need to provide more information

Open Apollo, go to "settings", and click on "enable debug log". After enabling logs, try to open the HDD saves option.
If it gets stuck again, get the log file from /dev_hdd0/tmp/apollo.log and send it over so I can review the issue.

I've reviewed the patches, and the checksum check in this save-game is an "odd case" not currently supported by Apollo.
You should be able to mod this Minecraft savegame using Bruteforce Savedata in your computer.

The problem here is that the CRC32 hash is calculated on one file, but saved on another different file. I missed this case and Apollo can't handle this right now, so until I fix it the only option is Bruteforce savedata.

Has someone managed to change the region of a savegame?
Tried with 10 different ones to swap from BLES to BLUS or vice versa.... none worked.

just to be sure, you select a new Title ID in the Apollo menu, and then click "apply changes and resign", right?

I remember trying it with Lollipop Chainsaw, as I had both versions EU / US... but again, maybe other games need some additional changes.

yes. Exactly this way.
Doesn't work for me with now 15+ tested games

no, for sure after that long it's not loading, the app crashed internally and you only see the "loading..." screen.

So I reviewed the log, and Apollo is crashing when trying to load this weird save-game:
Code:
[2021-01-28 01:09:34] Reading /dev_hdd0/home/00000001/savedata/Alisson/PARAM.SFO...

That folder "Alisson" seems really strange, as any original save-game uses the BLUS12345etc , NPEB12345etc name structure.
I assume that maybe it's a file from some homebrew? honestly I've no idea.

My guess is that the PARAM.SFO from that folder is different or has some missing information, so Apollo can't process it properly and fails silently.

Anyways, for a quick fix, just try to move that "Alisson" folder away from the /savedata/ folder and try loading Apollo again. It should work fine, unless you have more weird folders in you HDD.

I was reviewing the source code and I think that I made a mistake while replacing the data in the PARAM.SFO file.
As I don't have many duplicate games between regions, it would be helpful if you could test a "beta" build once I add a fix in my code.

Let me know if you could test it

Hey, downloaded your tool the other day, it's great! Easy to use and all in one place. Only problem I'm having is that it isn't working with my game save - because even if I change nothing and simply resign a save (even if it's the same save on my system), it zeroes out the account ID and the save is no longer recognised by the game. Fake save owner doesn't work either.

Viewing the original save file data shows no numbers or letters where "Account ID", is, it's just blank. I wanted to try resigning data that's already on my system before I do it to my other save data, but I've tried multiple programs and nothing's worked. Removing the zeros in a hex editor corrupts the save, despite it being identical to the original in every way, as far as I can tell. Any idea how I could get my save to work?

Do you have an account ID in your system? Only users logged to the official network have those accounts.

so just to be sure, do you have an account or it's a fully offline user?
