PS3 Updating from PS3 CFW 4.55 Rogero...

Hi Everyone,

I'd like to update my Slim PS3 CFW which is currently 4.55 Rogero V1.0.0

As I've not been using my PS3 for several years, I'd like to be advised which is the best firmware to update to now please?

By the way, I have multiMAN 04.55.00. I guess there are newer versions? Or perhaps better equivalent tools?

Thanks for your answers :sem blush:

Hello Nicko. You could update to Evilnat 4.92 CEX, which will be like using Rogero's CFW (meaning that it will not confuse you, because pretty much it's the same principles that are being applied regarding the way they both work), but you'll also find some great new goodies in 4.92 Evilnat, such as Custom Firmware Tools in the Network column of the XMB, and most importantly, it is a Cobra CFW (meaning you can load ISOs, mount games through the XMB using webMAN etc.) among other stuff (like being able to toggle coldboot, epilepsy message and so on...).

There is also the option for the OC (Overclocked) variant of the CFW, but i recommend you check further if your PS3 can handle it (it probably can, since it's a slim, but please check your model and the state of your PS3 after all these years), or if it is really necessary for you. Personally, i'm just fine with plain CEX (and i play heavy games, such as GTA IV, COD MW(2,3) and Spec Ops: The Line).

There is a MOD from aldostools that is updated for version 4.91, but you can install that. I'm on Evilnat 4.92 since release (last sunday), and i've had no problems with the 4.91 multiMAN MOD.

You don't need mM. For game mounting, use WebMAN MOD. Fo games dumping, use ManaGunz or IRISMAN. And dump to *.iso, not into so called "JB format".

Thanks a lot @ChompMike for your answer ! I'll have a look at Evilnat 4.92 CEX then !

@Berion : Can you explain what are the differences between MultiMAN and WebMAN please?
Thanks
