PS3HEN Updating my system to the latest version

I decided not to do the update a couple of months ago because I don't use my PS3 as a DVD player but what I didn't realize (and don't understand why no one didn't point out) was that I can't sign in to my account without the update. So, how do I update without losing everything? I just spent like 3 hours setting up RetroArch and really don't want to do it again.

For some reason about 2 months ago my system started telling me I need to update. It's version 1.92, which has been out for years I believe. Sorry, I am on HEN. So, I want to know how to update to the new version without having to reinstall hen and all of the apps/ games I have (there's tons).

Ok. Someone offered a YouTube video of how to update without losing anything so I want to make sure before I update my system software that I don't have to reinstall 30 plus games and apps. Will I just need to reinstall Hen?

What you're saying is impossible, you can't use HEN on firmware 1.92, lol. If you meant 4.92, that's already the latest version, and updating your system won't make you lose anything.

I don't know why people are always afraid that a system update will format their storage.
When you update your PC, does it get formatted?
When you update your phone, does it get formatted?
Same thing with the PS3.
 
Yes, I meant 4.92 and I am just repeating what I was told. Probably because every single guide out there tells you to turn off automatic system updates so most people probably assume you do that so you don't lose the jailbreak you just did. I think for the WII U you actually will lose your jailbreak if you update (don't quote me on that, it's been over a year since I jailbroke my WII U).
