Applying Custom configs to PSP games to run on PS3:
  • Note that this will require you to convert an .iso into a .pkg using Ez PSP2PS3 by DjPopol (and modded by zefie.)
  • Ez PSP2PS3 is a Windows executable.
  • This means that you will have to install it on the PS3 like you do with homebrew packages.
Preparing the necessary software:
  1. Download Ez PSP2PS3 from reddit [ https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PSP_HD_&_Minis_Configuration_Files_(Unofficial) ] or from the ConsoleMods Wiki [ https://consolemods.org/wiki/File:Ez_PSP2PS3_1.4.1.7z ]
  2. Unzip the contents.
  3. When you've got everything you need ready, you will run Ez_PSP2PS3.exe
Creating the patched PKG file:
  1. Put your ISO somewhere you can find it.
  2. Create a MINIS2.TXT file or edit the one already present in the PSP2PS3 download.
  3. Copy the default config lines from "Remaster Default.txt" (From the PSP2PS3 download) into the MINIS2.TXT file.
  4. Underneath that, copy the custom config lines for your ISO from the PSP HD & Minis Configuration Files page on psdevwiki.com [ https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PSP_HD_&_Minis_Configuration_Files_(Unofficial) ]
  5. Save the MINIS2.TXT file.
  6. Open Ez_PSP2PS3.exe
  7. Upon opening Ez PSP2PS3, you should get prompted to select your MINIS2.TXT file. If not, Make sure "Remaster" is selected under the "Type" section, and uncheck and re-check the box and it will prompt you for it.
  8. In the explorer window that pops up, find and select your previously prepared MINIS2.TXT file and click Open.
  9. Click the "Save" button in Ez PSP2PS3 and select the path where you would like to save the PKG file with the custom configs.
  10. Click "START"
  11. Let the program run until it's finished. Once it is done, close out of the progress window with the X in the corner of the windows.
  • Your PKG will be wherever you told it to save it. Now all you have to do is transfer it to your packages folder in your PS3 via USB or FTP.
  • Install the .pkg on your PS3 and play the game.

Additional Information:
  • There is an Emulator Settings section on the psdevwiki site that lists config settings and what they do in case you want to try adding any other config settings.
  • It appears there once was a way to test settings much more quickly by allowing the ps3 emulator to reead unencrypted MINIS2.EDAT files with a homebrew app called PSP Emu Selector by kozarovv. It seems like you would be able to edit the MINIS2.EDAT file over FTP to test configs much more quickly without having to re-create and install PKGs with different MINIS2 settings. Unfortunately, the github link is dead and it looks like it was only firmware 4.81 or 4.82 at the time. That was back in 2018. If anyone knows if this is still possible (and works on newer firmware) it would be pretty handy!

I couldn't find any clear, concise instructions on how to do this all in one place so once I figured it out I wrote the above up to help anyone who needs it.
