PS2 Very strange PS2 fault (Help)

So I've been fixing and modding PS2s for about 4 years now and I've gotten really good at it, I get new consoles in all the time so I see all kinds of stuff. However I'm working on a SCPH-30003 D-Chasssis (V4) that has a fault that I've never seen before.

The console will stay on and work fine for about 2-5 minutes but after a while it will crash, whatever music was playing will still be playing and the screen will still be on but everything has locked up and frozen. Then when I power cycle the console sometimes it will come back on for a very short time before crashing again or nothing will be on screen at all. The only way to have it work again is to leave it unplugged for an hour or so and then power on but the above things will repeat in a loop.

I tried and tested a few things but nothing has worked. I've:
Reflowed the Bios chip - nothing
Checked all power regulators - all outputting fine
Checked all fuses - all fine
Power supply - fine
Unplugged all over devices and had power going to the motherboard only - same thing happened

There's obviously a lot more to test but to save myself some time does anyone know what this could be? (The motherboard is a GH-13 btw)

My guess is the main graphics chip has a cold or barely connected solder ball but I don't wanna go messing with that until I've tired everything else.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
