PS3 webMAN MOD v1.47.01 - NEW Stable version with latest inclusions from Aldostools

After some testing builds where issues were introduced in the latest updates of webMAN MOD there has been some significant progress that has produced a new Stable release (v1.47.01) after some exciting new inclusions are added to the popular ps3 plugin that takes deank's webMAN (vanilla) plugin and adds a variety of additional features and functions. In some of the latest updates Aldostools has tinkered with deank's slaunch (since evolved into sMAN) and has some modifications that differs from the approach in deank's sMAN, There has been alot of development of this plugin lately by developer aldostools and some regressions did arise while implementing some of these latest additions, but all has fixed., The developer recommends anyone that was using the various v1.46.xx - v1.47.00 builds/commits to update to v1.47.01 which is consider a much more STABLE build.

Ok so I've encountered something strange. I have a CECHA-01 "FAT" PS3 running Rebug 4.81.2 REX with multiMAN 4.81.02 installed and just updated to webMAN MOD 1.47.01 after unistalling 1.46.11. I updated last night and had the same problem alot of other people had (no webMAN setup folder is empty) and that was the only issue everything else was fine. I then redownloaded 1.47.01 that has the webman_EN.xml fix today to solve that issue. Now for my problem. After boot up and plugins are loaded when I try to launch an app ie Rebug Toolbox, multiMAN, Irisman etc. My PS3 freezes and hangs on a black screen and I have to do a HARD power down (switch on back of console) and then my PS3 has to check and rebuild database upon restart. I don't know what happened to cause this. Everything was working fine the night before when I turned my PS3 off. And now today after startup this is happening. Any ideas?

Edit: Nevermind. After some experimenting I discovered it was the SEN Enabler plugin. It must have been using to much memory.

hey guyz, quick question : is slaunchMOD supposed to launch itself by default when the console starts ? I just realized I do have the slaunch.sprx installed o, hdd0 but that slaunch doesnt start when I press start. (I'm using Rebug 4.81.2 in Dex mode).
Thank you in advance for your answers ! :)

It is Cobra's job to load the plugins on boot so obviously the path to each plugin must be given to Cobra, that is the purpose of the boot_plugins.txt file.
Have you added the path to slaunch.sprx, something like "/dev_hdd0/slaunch.sprx", to your boot_plugins.txt?
If you haven't, slaunch will not be loaded on boot!
If the path has been added & is correct, slaunch will be loaded in memory for sure.

To make sure, why don't you use the wMM PS3MAPI page to list all the currently loaded plugins....??

Thanks ! that's kinda weird because my boot plugin file (hdd0/boot_plugins.txt) only shows this address : /dev_hdd0/plugins/webftp_server.sprx
But there is no webftp_server.sprx at this adress, yet webman seems to load flawlessly. Maybe the bootplugin for Rebug is elsewhere ?

Sorry I didn't really get that one ^^"

Rebug uses a different way to load webftp_server.sprx because it promoted the file to system plugin status. webftp_server.sprx can be found in /dev_flash/vsh/module. That is the file you are currently using atm.
You should use the Rebug Toolbox to enable/disable webMAN-MOD on Rebug.
Once webMAN-MOD is disabled in the Rebug Toolbox you can use Cobra's boot_plugins.txt to load webftp_server.sprx again...

when you install 1.47.01 slaunch.sprx is in the hdd0/plugins folder and it runs from there

I notice that even when you disable webman in rebug toolbox , slaunch still runs...although not fully functional. when I uninstalled wMM I had to physically remove it from the plugins folder because it was still launching

perfect thank you very much ! works perfectly now !

1.47.02 working great so far! Thanks @aldostools

Is sLaunch Mod now apart of wMM? I usually install the full edition of wMM but I was surprisingly greeted with sLaunch notification so I'm just wondering if it's apart of wMM now or just the full edition?

One unusual behavior in 1.47.01 - if you disable PSP folder in webman setup, after a refresh the webman setup disappears as well. You have to use VSH menu to turn PSP folders on again to get the webman setup to come back.

there seems to be alot of weird quirks and behaviors...lots a various different issues. I've loved wMM over the years but I can't use it anymore. just to much stuff. hopefully one day it will be uniform and consistant across the board again. I've tried it on 3 different systems ...all have had issues of varying degree.

im very happily using sMAN 1.08 right now. hopefully wMM will be solid for me again one day.

Try 1.47.02. It was recently released. Download it from GitHub.

Any progress

Yeah I love webmanmod, but poor aldos seems to of been struggling a bit since trying to incorporate too many major changes across multiple branches etc.

No doubt things will become stable again given time (only so much one man can do in their spare time), but sman is a godsend in the meantime. Fast, simple and most importantly relatively stable.

Still keep testing builds here and there and reporting my findings to try help. Although my new ntfs drive is already showing signs of corruption from needless writes, so I'm gunna hold off for a little while until some success is reported. (might just go back to fat32 to be honest, ntfs has been more trouble than it's worth and I won't have access to a Windows based PC for much longer)

Well, i've got two issues with the latest 1.47.02:

1- wMM isn't scanning my NTFS Drive (even with prepNTFS)
2- Previously, the scan was fine but it fails to mount the game...

Well, i think that the most stable to use as a daily driver is 1.46.02 (at least for me)...

Please, try with webMAN MOD alone (without other plugins, like vsh menu or sLaunch, loaded).
I also had similar issues when the other plugins were loaded, but it was too late... maybe I'll find some time in the week to continue testing...

@jonaaa I had similar issues but only when launching both wMM and sMM through boot_plugins.txt, launching only wMM will def. solve your problem.

@aldostools I have a bit of an unrelated subject but I somehow just got an idea and would like to know if it was something that you deemed possible to implement. Let me explain:

Since I've installed Cobra on my PS3 FAT I've been using your wMM and its dynamic fan control option and it's awesome and always allowed me to keep my PS3 at a low temp. Only thing is that, for no reason, the PS3 always boot with maximum fan speed (for only 10 to 15 seconds) and then goes back to normal speed.

I've seen very few mentions of this problem around the scene but if you google it you'll find a few occurences (always for FAT owners). Here is what I gathered:
- The PS3 is not hot at all on startup and it's not dust or thermic paste related.
- Deactivating dynamic fan control solves the issue --> fan starts at normal speed.
- Starting the PS3 with dyn fan control deactivated and activating it aftewise doesn't cause the fan speed burst and the plugin manages the temp perfectly.

Thus, my question is as follows : do you think that when my ps3 starts the internal temperature is somehow set to a super high value, forcing the plugin to take unjustified "drastic measure" to cool it down and that, when the real temp value kicks in, it starts to act normal ? If so, do you think it's possible to "delay" the dynamic fan control on startup (I'd say for 10 seconds approx.) ? I would love to hear your thoughts on that. Thanks in advance !

Edit (just to quote a few occurences I've found of this problem around the scene):

and here's a video that kinda shows my problem but I don't know if the guy uses wMM :

Ahh the good old CECHL0x fan bug.
Glorious isn't it? :)

Nothing quite like trashing a system file and having to reinstall cfw from recovery at 2am with the fan screaming louder than my straight piped skyline at 9000rpm. haha

I used to just disable dynamic fan control completely, but sman is quite good at disabling it and restoring syscon when unloading the plugin now, so depending how you shut down the ps3 you can work around it.

I actually had to live through that more than I am willing to admit hahahaha

Sorry you kinda lost me here. You mean I should unload the wMM plugin everytime I am shutting down the system ?
