What does ofw mean

Im getting a ps3 in about 2 weeks I went looking for one in the ebay equivalent of my country but every time they say that its hacked it does not have cfw or ps3 hen its has this thing called KDW i went digging a bit and when i looked at how to get my game backips on it , i can only find guides arabic (which i do understand barely) about turning the games into ofw ? So what does ofw mean and if anyone could link me or just tell me in english on how it works how to convert the games to ofw and does it do what cfw does, thank you
 
OFW = Official Firmware
CFW = Custom Firmware

I don't know what KDW is, but depending on which model PS3 you are getting you have the choice of either CFW or HEN. All PS3 models support HEN while only some support CFW (every model up to certain slim CECH-25xxx models). You can convert your owned original game discs to run in ISO format on both CFW and HEN - among other features which are not available on official firmware.

KDW is one of the CFW2OFW tools.

(it is also the name of a physical store in Indonesia.)
