Quite logical and as expected.
It was probably the plan all along, at least ever since ps4 development days.
Maybe, we might never know for sure.I don't think it was in their plans. They changed the architecture to make game development easier and faster. Their IPs were originally intended to be exclusive to force the users to buy their console and ecosystem.
This change of strategy may end in killing their console business.

What I'm afraid mostly is turning all consoles into cloud streaming services for any devices from toster to 8k tv... And with lags and video transcoding artifacts... :|
Unfortunately these issues are the norm in almost EVERY big game in recent years (decades?).I've read that some ex-Playstation exclusives are having lots of issues after being ported to PC (The Last of Us 2, Uncharted, among others).

Console games are not an exception.
Game studios release their products with poor quality control to meet schedules and keep investors happy. Anyway the players will have to get an update on day-0 (sometimes larger than the content in the disc) to fix some of the broken gameplay in the released game.
Regarding PSN and going online, I'm not interested in that at all. I plan to keep my next console offline until the homebrew scene is available on the latest FWs (both PS4 and PS5).Hi everyone!
For a couple of months I've being chewing the idea of getting a PS4 PRO, but because of the near impossibility of getting a new one sealed in the box I've started to look for a PS4 Slim. Here in Argentina there are lots of scammers that claim to sell "new in box" consoles and then you get the ugly surprise that the console was not new at all. I won't buy from them ever again.
Unable to find one still sealed in the box, I thought maybe a PS5 is better, as it's available at retail sealed in box, it's backwards compatible with PS4 and has much better speeds. I really like the PS4 exclusives, but if a PS5 can run them with better speeds and graphics, that's perfect.
I'm still not sure which one to pick because I'll not use it to play online at all (neither the PS4 nor the PS5), and I don't have a 4K TV yet so neither console will be used at its full potential. There is also the homebrew matter which is always a plus to have.
So, which one do you think is the better choice?, which one would you recommend me to buy?.
At the time of writing this post, the difference in price for the PS5 is almost 250-300 dollars more than a PS4 Slim (couldn't get the prices for a brand new PS4 PRO)... yeah, we love taxes a lot over here.
Thank you in advance for your replies and advices, those are always welcome.
