That logo is just a static picture that fades in and out. You can easily edit @Berion's DESR theme and change the dash_xebplus.png file.

@MonkeyBoyJoey If You want this boot video it is not possible by XEB alone, at least for now. You will need to put in boot chain PS2 Intro (app which playing video and launch chosen application), so this could looks like this: XEB bootldr >> PS2 Intro >> XEB Dashboard. But I'm not sure if this will not eradicate hw initialization made by loader and in the consequence, will make problems on XEB Dashboard side.

1: It will be a waste of resources, but, as you wish
2: The video is not necessary as it is just an image fading in and out
3: Using the application should not represent a problem if handled properly
4: A theme with that image as splash is doable

So far I have testers waiting for the BETA test with almost any PS2 model (we're on Alpha ATM)

Honestly, outside of a background in graphic design, I don't have any skills beyond being able to thoroughly test software and report back on what I find. I'm capable of thinking outside the box and trying to push software to crash. I can promise you timely, consistent, thorough bug reports on the smallest of details. I'm a stickler for quality.

Looks good so far. Where does that famous Dolphin screenshot come from anyway? My DESR-7000 doesn't have that as a background, just the generic ribbon lines on blue/black backgrounds.

@HWNJ What Berion has done is good enough. This will definitely help people who want the PSX flair but not deal with dead HDDs or implanting their XMB onto a SCPH-2040X. That does make me wonder if this could work on a DESR... I'll have to try it on release!

Last PSX-related thing from me: At the very least, would it be able to play the boot jingle? Or could that still cause issues?

No, but you can always play the sound in your phone while turning on the PS2.

I'm always open to critique. Nowadays, people somehow afraid it or taking it as affront. Well, not me, so don't be shy. ;]

On bad matrix or badly setting up, they will be very dark. Maybe that's the case here? But indeed they are dark anyway, to be in contrast with "bright metal icons". I'm imitating original design here, so most of the fault goes to Sony. ^^

From official ads and photo gallery. I've found original dolphins background (on one of images) but also tried different. I have an idea to make this theme bg rotator (on each boot it loads randomly read wallpaper from "/THM/XEB/DESeR/bg_*.png"). But we cannot use them in official release anyway, as all are paid stuff and belong to some professional photographers. For preview it is fine I believe, but for final release we need to pickup something else (I have made one undersea but I' not satisfied enough and probably I'll drop it; maybe I'll just use something similar by default XMB bg?).
