XBOX Series S at $299 (ERP)

Is a good price, lets see if they mantains it or is just a tactical move to try to force sony to lower his prices
After all, this $299 price is not official yet, microsoft could wait for sony to announce the real prices of PS5 and tell that it was an incorrect leak and increase the price of the XSS up to $349

Anyway, im not sure how successfull is going to be this model because is capped in performance, for $50 or so more you are going to be able to get a digital PS5 that is not capped

I just realized after writing my post :D
Ok, then $299 is a good price, right now is not posible to build a pc with that specs for that price, and there is not any "nuc" or small form factor mini-pcs that gets close to it

If i was to buy it i think i would have the feeling at all times while playing that is capped and the game should really look better if i would have invested $50 or $100 more

For "3rd World Countries" where 4K still isn't a thing yet, that price is a hot deal.

Edit: But as I told already on Twitter, it is very smart to have now both the most powerful next-gen console, but also the most affordable one.

PC master race here...

This is actually an amazing price, I'm quite surprised and deffo a kick in the teeth for Sony as I can't see the ps5 matching that price.

But still... I'll probs spend close to £2k on a new PC at some point. I don't just games.

XSX is the most powerful in gpu teraflops, but the PS5 is the most powerful in I/O :D

Btw, even for 1st world countries the 4K isn't a thing yet, as far i know in most countries the aerial and satellital TV channels uses to be 720p
Personally, if my TV breaks today (i hope it doesnt happen hehe)... for sure i will buy a 4K because is like an investment of money for long term, but right now we can only make a good use of 4k by buying/renting BD films, or by internet streaming services (netflix, amazon, etc...), or with a 4k console
But most of the time we are going to use it to watch 720p TV channels :/

Yes that is true. Same here in Germany. We have most channels in 720p, some in 1080i and I have one 2160p channel but that one is already questionable because you never know what the content provider actually use in terms of cameras etc. when shooting tv content.

Best Example:
[...]the 2018 World Cup was the first World Cup in which all matches were produced in 4K ultra high definition. Host Broadcast Services (HBS) stated that at least 75% of the broadcast cut of each match would come from 4K cameras (covering the majority of main angles), with instant replays and some camera angles being converted up from 1080p high definition sources with limited degradation in quality.

Here in Italy 90% of tv channels are 576i...

Anyway, if I'll buy anything it'll probably be the Ps5 pro at 299 $
