PS3 XMB Manager Plus (XMBM+) v0.23.003 - Duplicate PKG Listing Fix

Following up on the previous update of XMB Manager Plus (XMBM+) developer's Aldostools & Samson have made some updates and improvements to this XMB Modification that comes loaded with added functionality to the XMB. This XMB Mod takes over the Install Package File feature found on PS3 CFW's and supercharges it. You will still be able to install package files, but with many new additions such as a built-in XMB File Browser, Quick web links to Homebrew Store, Scene Sites (such as this one), Radio Links, Game & Save Manager and tons of other features[break]s[/break], you can get an idea of what this mod offers in the video below, but be warned that is a much older version and there is some changes and additions not seen in the video. This update provides a fix for a problem that has been around for sometime and Aldostools explains more about it below, but no longer should you see duplicate pkg's listed in the Package Manager. You can checkout more about this and all the details of XMB Manager Plus in the information provided below:

  • Fixed theradio.com link

XMBM+ Changes in v0.23.001 (mod):

  • web links
  • package manager
  • game manager.

aldostools said:
This is a very old issue (display of same pkg twice)... The cause is because the folders are typically mounted as /dev_bdvd and /app_home. The XML for Package Manager includes both locations in the queries.

To minimize this duplicated package issue I made a quick update in XMB Manager Plus 0.23.003
http://aldostools.org/xmbextras.pkg

I also made a custom category_game.xml that includes support for webMAN, XMBM+ and Package Manager.

I basically split the queries for pkg on /dev_bdvd and /app_home in the different sub-categories of the Package Manager. So if a pkg is mounted in both /app_home and /dev_bdvd, it should be listed only once. But if the pkg is mounted only in one of these folders (/dev_bdvd xor /app_home), it will be listed is one of the sub-categories (Package Folder or Standard Package Location).

There is also an entry to have multiMAN always on top, even using folder groups on XMB. This feature is commented out, but it can be uncommented or customized to show IRISMAN00 instead of BLES80608 if the user prefers it.

And the hits just keep coming!! I had learned to live with this but I won't say no!! BTW is the XML needed for this if we already have XMBM+ installed?

The category_game.xml is optional if you already have XMBM+ on XMB...

The xml has the Package Manager directly under Games... so it can be used without XMBM+.

Installing that XML and XMBM+ you would have the Package Manager twice.

OK sweet I'll just install the pkg as I don't have internet access for the PS3, I just grab with my cell then transfer. I was just curious if the XML was needed for all the updates to the site and such. Thanks again I'll install once I finish my game of Resident Evil ReMake HD!

Installed just fine for me on Rebug 4.65.2, at first I still had duplicate pkg files then I did a quick reset and all was well all dupes were gone. I have tested as well on Rebug 4.21.1 REX Cobra mod by haxxen and it worked fine. Using that firmware for now as I am borrowing a CU3 dongle from a buddy for cheats as its the highest firmware that works with it properly that has a REX Cobra port.

Edit
Quick update. If I choose All Package locations and not just a certain one say the package folder dupes still occur for me. But choosing only one location they are gone. Is this normal as reading the description again I did notice it says "minimizes" this occurance.

[MENTION=89]aldostools[/MENTION] and I tried fixing this bug before the REBUG 4.65.2 release a while ago, however, I couldn't stop webMAN kept reproducing this bug, but your issue will be gone after you mount any PS3 games, It doesn't really bother this me any more since I keep using

"Load Last played game"

Ah I'll have to mount a game when I get back. All I have played today is Resident Evil REMake HD from PSN since installing the update. Thanks for the heads up! ;)

[MENTION=7]atreyu187[/MENTION] if you use this build of webMAN MOD, the issue of duplicated pkgs should happen even less. I realized that Cobra is mounting /dev_usb000 as /app_home when the system starts.
So in this build I unmap /app_home when webMAN starts ;)

Download: http://aldostools.org/temp/test/webftp_server.sprx

This test build also has dynamic sector size (like the raw_iso.sprx from Estwald). I guess this should improve the compatibility with 3TB hdd formatted in ntfs. These HDD use sectors larger than 512 bytes.

Cool update i'll install later, thankyou [MENTION=89]aldostools[/MENTION] gonna be weird not having double pkg entry's.

just if people dont know radiofeeds does community radio as well as all the main national uk and irish radio stations and all feeds are optimized for ps3, i dont know if it will play outside the uk, please let me know if it works for you guys, and if there is any more websites i should take a look at.

You could check tunein ;) I haven't tried it on the ps3, but it has a lot of nice radio stations that work on PC and android.

tune in radio requires connecting to PSN, a real problem for those who are banned, I know there is a way to tear it, as was done with youtube app, it would be interesting

Complety fixed for me now!! Thanks a ton man just realized I have a lot less then I thought in my package folder lol

BTW have you noticed the 4.46 Rebug REX Cobra joonie released? I know your not really one to swap firmwares but thought it might spur your interest a little.

If you have any good suggestions I can include them... although I think the current links contain enough news about ps3 ;)

I was thinking a good game walktrough wiki site, still need to test and find one that play nice in the browser something like this would be nice.
http://www.myproffs.co.uk/cod-advanced-warfare/call-of-duty-advanced-warfare-outbreak
you know for when you get stuck

I also added scan GAMEZ to the game_data_manager.xml
Code:
<View id="seg_backups_usb_items">
		<Items>
			<Query class="type:x-xmb/folder-pixmap" key="backups_usb0_path" attr="attr_backups_usb0" src="host://localhost/dev_usb000/GAMES"/>

anyway tested and works ;)

For some reason webradio: all somafm feeds, shoutcast and radiofeeds have stopped working, tried with webkit and silk, i dont know if its because I am spoofed and they updated the flash or if its because of the ssl change but i dont get why its just died, should still work right?

EDIT:
somafm and shoutcast's player look the same on pc (as it has changed) but do play the feeds.
World's first SHOUTcast radio for PS3
