No. To login automatically to psn you have also to automatically disable cfw before login to psn.
Looking into psnpatch user manual:
NOTE:
CFW WILL NOT be disabled at boot (or it wouldn't be possible to mount games).
Alternatively: use a Ps3 with ofw
You are 100% correct !
There were no updates to PSNPATCH because they were not needed.
PSNPATCH is (still) firmware independent.
Why is PSNPATCH firmware independent ?
Because it "searches" for what must be changed in the running firmware. It does not care about versions or fixed memory...
In the past, KW made a version that auto disables CFW but it was not a good approach, and was deprecated:
Auto disable CFW is dangerous as you may be stuck with "near-OFW" and needing to reinstall firmware to be able to recover from it.
Also, if CFW is disabled, you wont be able to mount any...
psnpatch was developed and tested ONLY in CEX.
Syscalls disabling does NOT work in DEX the same way as in CEX.
I do not recommend going online with a DEX system.
You SHOULD NOT experiment spoofing or most certainly you will get banned !
Use a CFW with the same version as the current OFW, and always with psnpatch running in the background !
Made some more tests. Can't find any bug.

The storage device can be selected with up/down arrow keys.
I’ve tried import from several USB ports including both pen and external hard disk. Tried connecting trough a usb hub.
I’ve also imported from internal Hard drive.
It worked all the time.
I’ve also looked into the source code (it has been a while Since the last update) just to make sure that...
you just have to reinstall rebug trough the recovery menu.
follow the instrutions to install a cfw trough the recovery menu,
after being in the recovery menu, and start updating firmware, everything is reset. No more hangs.
take care about enable cobra in the cfw before installing psnpatch.
If it freezes in recovery, it is a problem of your ps3 hardware or the cfw you are using.
I suggest you to place the question in your cfw support thread.
Yes. You should read psnpatch user guide. Is quite straight forward.
But usually you should only:
install rebug.
go into rebug config and activate cobra
install pssnpatch
go into psnpatch config, install psnpatch plugin.
no other option should be needed.
you probably have installed the...
