Following that recent surprise Official Firmware Update of v4.76 that brought nothing new. Developer Alexander began working on his latest CFW and the developer has released 4.76 FERROX CFW (CEX). Seriously, please use English language or even Google translate. About your question, you need to downgrade first to 3.55 with hardware flasher to be able to install this. but only if you have cech-25XX or earlier. Sadly 320GB console is probably cech-30XX so you can't install this or downgrade.

I recently bought a ps3 slim 3000 chech30xxA and it was never modded or jailbroken... Can someone PLEASE help me to get this thing jailbroken so that I can enjoy the classic ps2 games on it as well as well as some classic arcade games... I downloaded the cfw listed above but I can't seem to get it working... The ofw I have is 4.76... can someone please help me to jailbreak my ps3 without having to pay some scammer a single dime to get nothing done and without a flasher which is impossible to get here in South Africa without paying a fortune...

U will need to either look up cobra ode
Or get a lower model 20xx

You will need more than just some files to jailbreak your console. Getting the files is the easy part actually.
Look for information on hardware flashers, you can use either a E3 FLASHER or Teensy. You must open the console to install & downgrade.
Try the article about downgrading on ps3devwiki.com...

Depending where you live it might be easier & possibly cheaper to sell your fat PS3 & buy a slim already in CFW....

A flasher will not work on your console, it would only work on an earlier slim as Sidewinder mentioned.
The Cobra ODE works fine even in 4.76 but in the future you may not be able to update & lose PSN access. Whenever Sony wishes it really... And you would need a DMC addon card if you cannot get your hands on the latest ODE version (v5.30). It won't be cheap either.
I used one regularly for 18 months, if all you want to do is play isos of your games stored on an external HDD the ODE is great.
PS1 games are supported but PS2 iso support is only on FAT backwards compatible consoles, I believe.
For the rest, most things are still locked. Homebrew releases are nearly non existent atm. There was a wave of ODE adapted brews like multiman, showtime, gamesonic after launch but no follow up since due to the limitations of the technology as well as its low impact. Those older brews still work though & they are better than nothing..

You can get a E3 hardware flasher kit on Aliexpress for about 40 us dollars with free shipping, they sell Cobra ODE too btw...

If you decide to install an ODE, you should look for existing threads (on any ps3 forum) on the subject. Guys posting there should be happy to help.
You can also open a new thread about ODE here or ask by pm, if need be.

Hello, rename the file to PS3UPDAT.PUP, put it on a USB stick in folder structure, PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP, and put it in the furthest right USB slot on the ps3. Make sure there are no discs in the blu ray drive and the internet is disconnected from the machine. Go to system update and look for your update file, it will say udate from storage media. If that doesn't work going through system update, go into safe mode by powering on ps3, quick power off and hold power button down till you get 3 beeps. From there update from storage media. Good luck

Lmao, [MENTION=148]Sdw100[/MENTION] I figured not to bother mentioning rebug cfw, if you can't fig out how to update, rebug is way out your league and skill level, I believe he has lots of reading and learning to do yet. Hope he isn't here tomorrow asking how to get back to cfw from ofw.
