PS3 4.78 FERROX CFW (Standard CEX) v1.00 by Alexander

PlayStation 3 CFW developer Alexander has released the latest version of his FERROX CFW, following the release of PLAYERKP420's 4.78 CFW. This CFW from Alexander while a Standard CEX also (like platerkp420's) does contain some additional features and patches for PS3 Custom Firmware users. In this edition of FERROX the developer has Disabled Cinavia, Removed Epilepsy Warning on the console boot, A new feature in FERROX firmware is an Integrated Package Manager to replace the standard Install Package Files. [strike]Now unlike playerkp420's CFW this does not handle MAMBA in the current form and according to test done in the developer's notes MAMBA v2.1.5 "Identified a Brick. Do not use FOR SAFETY UNTIL NEXT UPDATE.". [/strike] [break]ss[/break],

UPDATE: Alexander has mentioned that MAMBA is working fine and does not cause any bricks, the message was from a test build and accidenettly applied to the news source location.

This is not a cobra cfw, so unfortunately Webman is not going to work.

Wrong :P MAMBA PRX LOADER v2.1.5 should did the trick + latest webman mod updater 1.43.25 or this test version: http://aldostools.org/temp/test/webMAN_MOD_1.43.25_Updater_test.pkg

@ratoAx please specify your multiman version (btw. with mamba autoloader it start work anyway).

I meant Webman will not work natively Like it does on a cobra firmware I assume he is using cobra because of this"and still i can enter MultiMAN and it shows my games only it doesnt load them"

That is what happens when you go from a cobra to non cobra firmware and don't turn on the bdemu payload or whatever it is called in the settings column of MultiMAN.

You're right but your previous answer just wasn't precise enough. :)

What are you guys using to go online with a CFW.? The latest CFW and SEN enabler or a previous CFW with SEN and Spoof, or something else/more?
I have been waiting for the new CFW, because it seems more safe to online or am i wrong?

Thanks for the upload!!

Taken from PS3devwiki :
Update error 0x8002F1F9 Error with installing Firmware update. Check the connection of the Wifi/BT board, reboot system and reinstall firmware.

You could try :

1 . Enter recovery mode (simply unplug the PS3, hold the power button and plug the PS3 back in with the power button pressed, you should be able to enter recovery mode and use all the options in the order they appear
2. Put in another HDD and try to install custom firmware
3. Disassemble PS3 and check the wifi/BT board and possibly replace it.

The last CCAPI version is compatible up to 4.76 so it seems normal that you get a "firmware not compatible" message. It will be updated soon, no doubt. Be patient.
In the meantime, you could use SEN Enabler 5.9.2 to spoof your ids. However read the documentation/tutorial well if you have never used it before.

What's your last question? Does the fw need spoofed? Are you asking about firmware version (in which case the answer is obviously no) or are you asking about ids like idps/psid (in which case the answer is also no)?

There is no need to spoof anything but if you use PSN then spoofing ids (with a set from a dead console) would protect your console from a ban, the spoofed ids would get banned instead, along with the PSN account you are using. (You could use a 2nd PSN account for general PSN use & keep your main PSN account safe, to be used only when you really need it.)
