PS3 4.78 FERROX CFW (Standard CEX) v1.00 by Alexander

PlayStation 3 CFW developer Alexander has released the latest version of his FERROX CFW, following the release of PLAYERKP420's 4.78 CFW. This CFW from Alexander while a Standard CEX also (like platerkp420's) does contain some additional features and patches for PS3 Custom Firmware users. In this edition of FERROX the developer has Disabled Cinavia, Removed Epilepsy Warning on the console boot, A new feature in FERROX firmware is an Integrated Package Manager to replace the standard Install Package Files. [strike]Now unlike playerkp420's CFW this does not handle MAMBA in the current form and according to test done in the developer's notes MAMBA v2.1.5 "Identified a Brick. UPDATE: Alexander has mentioned that MAMBA is working fine and does not cause any bricks, the message was from a test build and accidenettly applied to the news source location.

• ManaGunz v1.23 - I personally works perfectly, even at SNK. Mizio argues that some games misbehave. Maybe some small configuration? I do not know. Let us know if you try it!

Can i use it for PS3 CECH-2012A

I have :
PS3 Model: CECH-2012A OFW 4.78
It was jailbroken, Updated by mistake to OFW 4.78
Now I have the Multiman with this error : "80010017: An error occurred during the start operation"

Can I use the "4.78 FERROX CFW v1.00 (Standard CEX) " or I have to downgrade to 3.55 so I can use this CFW.

 

You need to downgrade using hardware flasher.

 

New feature ps2 games

Can someone explain to me right what is this new feature: PS2 Games? Since I bought my PS3 I (4 years ago ) I try to play Radiata Stories on the PS3 but can never , after the logo playstation 2 the screen is black , with this new feature will be able to play this game ?

On non backward compatible consoles (most consoles apart from very early phat models) , ps2 games work through software emulation.
Unfortunately not all games work that way.
There is a PS2 game compatibility list on this forum. Check it. If your game is compatible it should run. If not, there is nothing you can do.
