PS3 4.78 FERROX CFW (Standard CEX) v1.00 by Alexander

PlayStation 3 CFW developer Alexander has released the latest version of his FERROX CFW, following the release of PLAYERKP420's 4.78 CFW. This CFW from Alexander while a Standard CEX also (like platerkp420's) does contain some additional features and patches for PS3 Custom Firmware users. In this edition of FERROX the developer has Disabled Cinavia, Removed Epilepsy Warning on the console boot, A new feature in FERROX firmware is an Integrated Package Manager to replace the standard Install Package Files. [strike]Now unlike playerkp420's CFW this does not handle MAMBA in the current form and according to test done in the developer's notes MAMBA v2.1.5 "Identified a Brick. Do not use FOR SAFETY UNTIL NEXT UPDATE.". [/strike] [break]ss[/break],

UPDATE: Alexander has mentioned that MAMBA is working fine and does not cause any bricks, the message was from a test build and accidenettly applied to the news source location.

I think it was a joke. u can install the latest rebug over 1.00 in reality.

Please don't, messing with 1.00 isn't fun, I just went thru 1.00 and 2.00 cfw and lost my data on ps3hdd due to corruption of registry and database and also lost ds3 sync until I reset the system

really. I haven't done it, but I know it can be done. I think someone created 1.00 cfw which seems pointless, but according to ps3devwiki, u can add keys to earlier firmware. though, I don't know anyone who's actually done it.

I couldn't run unsigned codes on mfw 1.00 due to not being able to install any pkgs neither app home is available. But at least got my lv1/2 dumps on dex 2.00 cfw

I read something about memory restrictions on earlier firmware leading to issues with peek and poke/etc with syscalls. don't know if it's true or not.

There was no lv2 mem protection on fw below 3.41 but added since 3.50 :)

Yea mi e used to report 2.70 on my CECH-2501A due to a new IDPS but you can "fix" it so it reports back the proper version as I did using info from PS3Devwiki. Dumped checker tossed all sorts of errors at me but got it all sorted in the end.

no recovery mode and higher then the very next update seemed to not want to install

Wow. That IS ******** indeed. I never wanted to go that far down on my cecha because of fear of something wrong going on it and not being able to recover. NAND downgrading is something that doesn't exist in Argentina.

I fixed your sentence. :-)

maybe one firmware was in preparation for another which is a major screw up by sony anyway. it would be awful if u hadn't updated ur system for a while only to be met with database corruption or worse.

How did you do the permanent swap exactly? Last time I mentioned permanent swap using idpset, I was told it was a bad idea....
I was meaning to do it for a friend but now am not really sure...

i try it bit your fw is not supp.
what can i do please help

If it is saying that it isn't supported then enstone must not have updated ccapi yet. You are sure you have the rev2 version installed? I was under the impression that it supported 4.78 fw. If not you either wait for him to update ccapi, or you q and a toggle your ps3 and downgrade to 4.76 cfw that is supported, then spoof to get online, I don't recommend this though unless you are familiar with what I have said.

[MENTION=56]Alexander[/MENTION] Have you tried if psp remastered/minis works on your cfw?

I asked because i have added the psp support to mamba but seems not work on your cfw and on that of playerkp420.

On the other cfw (rebug, habib, ps3ita..) i don't have problems..

Custom Firmware Ferrox has not disabled the new PSP DRM check, and does not allow the execution of the PSP Remaster minis backup
