I'm liking Ferrox 1.01+ a lot at the moment. Best of the bunch that I've tried and no ugly graphic mods. (Although they are optional if you're into that kind of thing.) :)

You want my advice? Don't update...
There's absolutely nothing new in 4.81...except a certificate which so far does not seem to make a difference.
Wait for for a Cobra release from habib if you don't use Rebug then there will be a good reason to update.
In the meantime use SEN Enabler 6.0.3 once to spoof fw version then you can connect to PSN as usual using psnpatch or SEN plugin.

Anyway if you are really desperate to update for whatever reason, I suggest you install Cobra Ferrox 1.01+ as most 4.81 CFW including Ferrox were released with bugs at first. Few have been updated but Ferrox already has. To mount games, use Irisman 4.81 or webMAN-MOD 1.45.02 which have been updated for 4.81. For other backup managers, you will need to wait.

I like my cfw up to date and version spoofers are not for me, as for rebug is a great cfw but also not for me, don't see a cfw from habib for some time, think it is with rebug team but i might be wrong, someone correct me.
I have been using ferrox cobra cfw for some time it is great but i don't like the changes in xmb or the color changes when we press the PS button, also the homebrew store on xmb, don't know if this one still as those, if yes then i think ill go for darknet this time.

ty for ur input

The colour mods are a separate pkg now in the latest version of Ferrox. Note I have not released a version of Launchpad for Ferrox v1.01. I'm waiting to see if it gets updated to v1.02, (possibly a small bug with reading pkgs off SD cards, not sure though) and I'm also waiting to see if the other firmwares get new releases too so I can include them in the installer. If I release a new installer every time a new firmware comes out it will just get confusing for people, so I will leave it a few weeks or more until all the bugs are ironed out and all the 4.81 FWs released.

The version Ferrox Cobra 4.81 1.01 + is "Vanilla" version, without customizations. Inside you will find a kind of "toolbox" to install all the custom graphics.
As for the bug of 'SD, I would not know. I have to check. It will be the standalone package manager to have this problem?
I have to get more feedback for that ..

Actually i think you are right, same problem exists in Rebug Package Manager, there is no path added for the SD card. Maybe Atreyu187 can do some tests for you, I really don't like messing with my NAND, (too many power cuts here lately)

Here is the list of paths that pkgs can be installed from (I don't see "SD" on there or CF, just USB, MS, BDVD, USB):
Code:
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_host" src="host://localhost/q?path=/app_home/&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_bdvd" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_bdvd&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_ms"  src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_ms&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_usb0" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_usb000&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_usb1" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_usb001&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_usb2" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_usb002&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_usb3" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_usb003&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_usb4" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_usb004&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_usb5" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_usb005&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_usb6" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_usb006&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_usb7" src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_usb007&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />

I assume you can just add:
Code:
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_sd"  src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_sd&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />
<Query class="type:x-xmb/xmlpackagefolder" key="host_provider_cf"  src="host://localhost/q?path=/dev_cf&suffix=.pkg&subclass=x-host/package" />

*if "dev_sd" is the actual path for an SD card, I have never tested it.

The reason I first mentioned this is these comments.

Yeah, looks like this is not a bug related to Ferrox at all. This "bug" even exists in official Firmware.

There are no pkg paths added for dev_sd and dev_cf even in the official category_game_tool2.xml from 4.81, surprised no one has noticed until now..

Hmm, I think that I installed something from SD in 4.80. For sure i didn't checked this in 4.81.

I don't think so, Im looking at the Rebug 4.80.1 xmls too. Unless dev_ms redirects to dev_sd or something weird like that. Can you test now with SD on whatever FW you are on.

Now i can't. For sure I installed firmware from SD. Maybe packages too, I always have pack with that in one place..

Firmware path is different as the path isn't contained in the category xmls, I suppose it is possible that it used to work and there was a regression for some reason.

Anything from the DEX system?
Not that I know of...
4.81 came out only 5 weeks ago & sometimes getting hold a DEX pup takes some time.
In any case, asking repeatedly for it will not speed up the process of getting it. [emoji6]
It will come soon enough....
