PS3 4.81 STARBUCKS (+ COBRA 7.50) v1.02 CFW by habib

Following the release of 4.81 Starbucks v1.00 & v1.01 & his recent work with Fake Save Date/Game Quit Popups for REBUG CFW, developer HABIB has now turned his attention to COBRA once again and thus released a new version (v1.02) of his "Starbucks" firmware with an updated COBRA (v7.50) payload that of course comes with some new features included. The dev has included a new feature in the CFW that does not require the use of lv2 peek and other methods to get your console IDPS & also applied some patches that were once exclusive to MLT 's Firmwares. Cobra v7.50 adds some new functionality by adding PS2 ISO that are decryptted "Config Support", Backwards comparable console now will be allowed to use "ps2 netemu with cobra opcode 0x1ee9", Plus some additional PS2 changes for BC and Semi BC consoles.

Another interesting change includes will make updating to applications to work with Cobra easier as "modules can be updated, no more hash update needed", which should save developer's some time when supporting the payload. Additional details can be found below in HABIB's release quote

Thats because of cobra redirection to app_home
Didnt change it to have multiman or other application compatibility to redirect

can I just install this directly without downgrading or something and not losing my data? my ps3 is cfw4.81 habib v1.01 sorry for my noob wuestion.

How does this firmware affect PS2 ISO's for CECH-A models? Sorry for being ignorant to the dev notes.

CECHA01 uses ps2_emu by default which has the maximum compatibility, however if you insist on using ps2_netemu [software emulation] with CONFIG support [which is probably not as good as your native emulator anyways] you can also use webMAN MOD 1.45.07 and its toggler for that just to play around.

If you find any game that doesn't run on PS2EMU, your alternative option could be ps2_netemu + CONFIG

Thanks for the explanation. I haven't ran into any games that refused to work but good to have alternate options if so!

so basically, there's really no performance upgrade for BC/Semi-BC, just the choice of forcing PS2_netemu?

Yes you can install is update directly.
You do not need to downgrade at all anymore, you can install CFW up or down in versions without problems as long as QA is enabled.

No you won't lose any data when updating this CFW
Sometimes when updating Cobra versions, some games may need to be reinstalled but there will be no data loss though.

anyone knows why when using psnpatch with any cfw 4.81 it gives psn error (80028E01) ??
without psnpatch PSN works fine ...
anyone else have the same issue ?

your best bet is going to be to go to the psnpatch release thread and read through the information there, i am 100% positive that psnpatch has a feature that diables psn on startup, and requires you to press a certain combination of buttons that will mask CFW and allow psn access. good luck :)

yes its true, psnpatch disables psn on boot.
Also regarding to psnpatch since it is a old homebrew my question is will it also disable the new syscall15 on this cfw when i want to connect to psn?
