BTW: the writer does not write to HDD, so there is no need to check the HDD after successful exploit/shutdown.
System restore should also not be necessary (the firmware stays the same anyway).

Cleaning browser cache let it finally reboot on its own after success on NOR!

edit: You are the man, it made it all the way thru cobra update!! Whats differnt between this and standard btw?
 
How do I get on dex with this ? I try using toggle qa not working nor rebug toolbox it' not that I don't like the fw I just want dex because I can' mod without it I don' have a pc and reliang on sprx and eboots
"Your system is not running on compatible rebug cobra" please guys help me get back on dex :)

I am new to the modding scene and a few hours prior to this post i had accidentally upgraded my CECH 2001 B to OFW 4.82 and i was wondering if its still possible to mod without tearing my console apart and if it isnt, if another OFW came out the following year would i be able to upgrade it from there or would i have to start from a lower OFW? Please any help would be appreciated as i've been trying to mod my ps3 for years on and off but never seriously and i have not been able to do so. (10x harder then modding psp x_x)

With that PS3 model and actual 4.82 official firmware you are fine to mod it, take a read at this thread, http://www.psx-place.com/threads/ps...flash-writer-nor-dumper-released.15500/unread
Downoad the files, be patient and read calmly all the info and user reports, etc... the best suggestion is to not get hurry, this is the kind of thing you should spent a few days before doing it
Also, notice there is a IDPS dumper and flash dumper, this apps access flash in "read only mode", are safe to make experiments to check if you have all ready and working before doing any data write
 
I'm puzzled..... OK I have a phat Ps3 and I successfully ran the exploit....So I downloaded Ferrox 4.82 but I always get the error (8002f957) and when I enter recovery mode to try to install the update i get "The data is corrupted"(8002f2c5) I really need help don't mean to be a pest

I installed (cfw 4.82 FERv7.53 COBRA v7.53) in my ps3 its work fine i instal too prepare ntfs and when i start prepare ntfs after i put my usb ntfs web man and multiman not found my usb ? Any idea ?

i know you said to wait it out a few days but do you know if theres any kind of video tutorial out yet? im just really excited to be able to mod knowing im good to go hardware/firmware wise and some of specific text in the written tutorial is a bit confusing
