PS3 4.85 CFW & PS3HEN (Homebrew / Tools / CFW Releases / PS3HEN Updates)

Ok, my mistake. Probably the beeps in habib's toggle qa is not a sign that it's not working. I successfully enabled the qa and installed 4.84 ferrox. Thanks!

Yeah, I used habib's standalone QA toggler a while back and it doesn't beep or give any other indication that it's worked other than what's in the release notes which explains its functionality. Either way, glad you got it sorted out. :)
 
@Andrew 2001 Yes you can. There's no need to install HAN as HEN supersedes it in every way. If you're on OFW 4.85 then you will need to install HFW via the recovery menu/safe mode if it won't allow you to install it normally via System Update on the XMB.

Thats the problem that i have im on OFW 4.85 but when i install HFW 4.85 it shows its already on the latest firmware even on safe mode tried it numerous times it picks up the HFW on the stick but no luck

I'm wondering what forum rule/s was broken with the OverFlow posts. Is it anyway Bobby Downgrades can fix it so there can be links to his OverFlow 4.85 here for users to download?

My advice... Do a clean install!!!.. Format internal HDD. Install OFW 4.85 from the select - start at boot from a usb hdd or stick, then install HFW 4.85 when you back at the XMB in the System Update menu. Then install HEN from PSXploit.com.
 
I got a Question guys? Is there a way to grey out or phase out System Update via Internet in System Update? Or toggle it on or off? So anyone playing on my PS3 doesn't upgrade me to a new OFW?

if you are on hen it wont let you update via internet. it will display a message telling you dont update. for cfw there is a modded file from devil303.
 
rebug blocks bluray in the recovery menu, so unless someone tries to update via usb stick in the recovery menu, you should be fine.
 
I have a question with the upgrading between different version.

On my PS3 PHAT I had originally installed HFW 4.84.2 --> did the dump/flash writer and then installed cwf Rebug 4.84.1 REX Have been using it for a few month now. No real issues.

When HFW 4.85 came out I installed it and re-did the dump/flash process. The dump file all passed with the pyps3checker. I then tried to install CFW Rebug again but it fails each time. If I try to update the XMB via USB it reboots and says the file is corrupted. Even though the MD5 hash is correct. When I try to update from ps3 bootup the console tells me there is no firmware that is 4.85 or higher on the USB stick.

If I installed HFW 4.85 can I install a lower version of CFW? Or do I have to install a CFW that is 4.85?

I`ve also read something that I may have to use the QA Toggle.
