PS3 4.86.1 REBUG LITE EDITION + REBUG TOOLBOX 2.03.04 MULTI RELEASED

UPDATE - Builds for Broken Console's (NoBD / NoBT / RSOD) - See link at bottom of article
fIt has been a busy week and especially for the PS3, First we had introduction of bguerville PS3 Toolset (which introduce a new ps3 Exploit along with some powerful tools). Then we had 4.86 Official Firmware dropped (no exploits patched) Then developer @Joonie of Team Rebug was quick to release an updated HybridFirmWare (for PS3HEN user's when an update to PS3HEN arrives for those nonCFW models) and now the developer follows that with the release of 4.86.1 REBUG LITE Edition, supplying us with one of the best firmware as the first option for 4.86 Custom Firmware Choices.

This CFW comes equipped Cobra 8.2 payload, this payload provides various features some of those highlights include background running plugins, burnt optical media support as well as ISO Support are a few of the many Cobra features included in v8.2. The release details found below detail the various features & patches found in this CFW release. Also it's worth checking out at the download location (link below) the additional info and ":how to" information pertaining to use of REBUG LITE's CFW functionality. Note: that currently as of writing this some homebrew still needs to catch up fully for 4.86 support to on par with 4.85 and previous FW's . So it's not advised to rush in quite yet, if some bugs discourage you,. Until then, keep a watch HERE as those updates roll through, since there was no kernel changes to the 4.86 update most homebrew should still be functional on 4.86 with no update but some could have minor/moderate issues.

Im curious about what you modifyed in the TTF file @kozarovv
The first time i did read about that polish typos in the PS2 and your patch to fix them i thought it was a patch to the emu .elf but now im realizing you modifyed a TTF file... interesting

I guess you was "injecting" the missing characters in his proper slots (not sure which program you used but yeah that should work), what i dont get is why it was reported as problematic for asian characters
As far i understand the "injected" characters should not interfere with any other character at all

I think that someone else modified that font. Not sure, but i think it was Joonie. Also looks like it wasn't issue with Asian characters as i thought, but:

Font fix
(some old games that use system font now display all letters correctly, Polish letter fix is removed due to this change )

Found in 4.84.2 changelog.

I asked about it because time ago i was thinking in modifying the official PS3 fonts with this https://fontforge.org/en-US/

The point is all the fonts reserves a "character map" that have a lot of thousands of "characters slots", and is a single standard "character map" for all them
Is just most of the font files have empty slots, and i guess in this case the official PS3 fonts have that caracters missing

Dunno, but as far i understood adding characters to the official TTF files should work and should not cause any problems to the other characters

Don't quote me on that, but i believe that table determine HEX that need to be used to draw that letter later. I remember those slots were empty, but maybe it was some "hidden" sony stuff that just doesn't rendered on PC. My point is, maybe we didn't overwriting empty slot.

There is still chance to fix all in one shot, but require additional EMU patch to use different letters from end of table for Polish letters.

We use to talk about the characters using the hex values, but can be directly converted to unicode identifyers, the unicode character map is inmense and there are many ways to represent it, most webs are a bit confusing, but this one is very straightforward
https://codepoints.net/basic_multilingual_plane
I guess the "slots" for the missing polish characters are located in one of the "latin supplement" or "latin extended" planes
btw for other people reading us and interested in this... you need a font installed in your OS containing all that characters to be able to see the characters in the web page, otherway the web page is going to display "tofus" (because your OS cant display them, the web is fine, and the problem is in your OS)
As example, i dont have installed fonts with all the asian characters, so i cant see them

So, the first step would be to find the unicode identifyers for the polish characters in the charmap of that web
Then it would be needed to open the official PS3 TTF files (i guess the latin ones) to verify if that identifyers are empty
And then it would be needed to add them in the empty slots... this is the trick part

Time ago i was searching about how to do it and if i remember right fontforge was a nice app that is able to do it... but i never tryed though
Incase fontforge cant do it... well, the theory is the same... is just we would need a different program (or some hacking skills to patch the TTF file in a hexeditor)

Hey guys, this is my first time attempting to do this but when trying to go to the rebug lite site for download it gives me a 404 error. anyone else experience this or know how to get around it? Can someone provide me with the files if the site is down?

The download link isn't working, the download is getting stopped, i tried many times. Kindly fix the download link.

Try different browser (e.g Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi...).

I do not have any problems with downloading this CFW.

I am a Hen hacker and I have a maltiman and it is games that it is possible to wipe the hen and download the han

@Joonie
Hi i have rebug always:cool2:, now i am stuck on DEX with broken dvd, you never released a DEX noBD rebug to go back to cex and install a noBD rebug cex without repairing the dvd player, would you be able to do a 4.84 d-rex noBD please?:apologetic::sorrow:

Hi, I'm just wondering. I've been stable on my PS3 with Rebug.
and now I see this is Lite Version.
I am always in REX edition (currently in 4.84.2 REX)

What is different in LITE version compared to the usual CEX/REX/DREX releases?

I'm more concerned when it comes to Debug Settings, because I can enable Fake Save Data Owner and Set Circle as Select
Plus, my BD drive is not working anymore
