. Original Article (4.84 HFW - March 2019): Huge News as the PS3 exploit ladder has taken a step up into 4.84 rung, with a new approach to bring back PS3Xploit functionality on 4.84. With a Hybrid Firmware (NOT A CFW) that can be installed on ANY MODEL PS3 over any Official Firmware (OFW) version. .The only thing this modified firmware essentially does is bring back the patched webkit from OFW 4.82 that was an entry point for PS3Xploit, if you recall when 4.84 was released developers @bguerville and @esc0rtd3w stated the exploit was not actually patched but rather only the webkit entry used was removed in 4.83+ which rendered the actual exploit unreachable (not patched and could be restored). Now the webkit is back for 4.84 OFW thanks to this new clever magic that has allowed OFW user's to use and install this slightly modified Firmware.​

So, what does all this mean? Now it will be just like it was back in 4.82 before PS3Xploit was "patched"(some ps3xploit tools need updated still) you will be able to install a CFW (on a CFW compatible model) and for those unfortunate user's that does not have a CFW Compatible model (i.e. SuperSlim/late slims) you have will have access to the HAN exploit . So for new user's or ones that updated, here is your second chances thanks to the efforts of the members of PS3Xploit Team and to @Joonie (waved magic wand on files) and prepared this magically release, @habib (for valuable input on this project) and @esc0rtd3w (work in porting ps3xploit tools to 4.84) ​

It has been an exciting month here at psx-place with so much progress on all fronts of the PS3 . the fuel of this project actually comes from a user simply igniting a spark with an idea as @Doge_Rules did with this thread truly making it a community effort.   Today, we proudly present the very first modified OFW that can be installed on all PS3 models. (NOTE: THIS IS NOT A FULL BLOWN CFW, HOWEVER IT Allows you to run the patched webkit exploit that's ported to 4.84)​
  
  Yes, you didn't hear wrong, it can be installed over
  
  • ALL OFW versions on ALL PS3 models
    • ex) OFW 4.83, 4.84 , CECH-3XXX, CECH-4XXX and etc..
  
  We wanted this to be called "HHHFW" since it was Hybrid, Hack-able, HAN ready also inspired by @habib but let's call it HFW since this is Hybrid FW (Well you can call this MFW).
  
  The idea was reminded by some guy who didn't want to be annoying but actually ended up being helpful: @ psx-place.com
  
  Habib had this idea long time ago but the previous attempt was not successful due to lack of interest and preparation.
  
  As you all know, I recently started messing with my PS3 again and this idea was brought back.
  
  So then I went ahead and tried his magical idea.... after a few hours later... Boom!!, now we have HFW that works on all PS3 models (including 3K and 4K) that allows the previously patched exploit by using old webkit from 4.50 that's been used until 4.83. This method is rather hacky than technical, so I would like to leave this method under the radar for now until it gets patched out (this can easily be patched).
  
  What can you do with this HFW 4.84.1/2?
  
  1. You can use PSN since the FW is the latest.
  2. You can downgrade/Install CFW on your PS3 if your model is downgrade-able/hack-able (excluding CECH-3K and 4K)
  (The same capability as what you had for 4.82 OFW)
  3. You can use HAN and all the tools that worked up to 4.82 with this FW.
  4. You can always go back to the real OFW 4.84 if you wish.​

A doubt, Since you can Replace the patched files with original ones on any ofw, Can you replace the 4.84 HFW pup with the 3.55 OFW signed as 4.85 or something?

This way you might be able to install an older fw (Since it's signed & untouched) on ofw & reap the benefits of cfw on all consoles?

Pardon me as I could sense stupidity in this suggestion myself, dunno much about the 3.55 exploit lol.

Unfortunately the such thing is impossible.

1. 3.55 fw doesn't have signed pkgs.
2. PS3 has a check for CoreOS version and it only accepts either the same or higher.

2. Just the same thing you did with 4.84 HFW dude, just replace the exploit required files from 3.55 to a new pup containing idk 4.84 core os version?

The only exploit from 3.55 is the CoreOS itself which I explained.

 

Hello, PS3-Place TEAM!

Before all i wanna give a really great thanks to everyone of you who finally makes it possible to exploit the 4.84 Playstation 3 OFW.
I need help since i am new in this stuff:
I have a PS3 Super Slim model: CECH-4004C
Yesterday i installed the HFW 4.84.2 and the installation process was successfully done, so my questions are:

- Did i have to install the HFW 4.84.1 too ??? or just the HFW 4.84.2 exclusively??
- Did i have to install first the HFW 4.84.1 then move on to the HFW 4.84.2 in second?
- After the installation of the HFW, what i step it comes after this installation, in other words did i have to install some tools or some other stuff ?? If yes what i should install after the installation is done of my HFW ??

Just install the 4.84.2 & HAN since you cannot install cfw on super slims

 

How do I downgrade to install cfw? I installed the hfw, my ps3 is 4.84 slim cech2501a!

I'm currently on 4.82 OFW with HAN installed. Would it work if I updated to HFW, and then installed the 4.84 HAN support files using the exploit? Also, would the offline HAN enabler still work on the new version? Thanks in advance...

 

I don't want to be annoying or anything but does anybody know if they are gonna fix the DUMPER/WRITER for the HFW? I just can't wait until they come out so i can finally jailbreak my console

 

So I have an odd issue. I managed to install the HFW 4.84 fine. HAN Installer launched fine, but now HAN Enabler wont run on either account. I just get initializing failed. And yes, I do have the 484 support files on the root of my USB, which is formated to FAT32 MBR :p

Any idea why this is happening? I've also enabled DMZ mode for my PS3 IP in my router, so there is nothing blocking it. Which it shouldnt due to installer working.
I am using the ps3xploit website for this, and not a self hosted one.

My PS3 system is an old CECH-2004A

 

When you turn off the PS3, all activation keys PSN, and PS 2 fly off.

Ok guys, I'm new on this and I'm very excited! But I've some doubts regarding ban possibilities. Can I play any resigned pkg games while Online with my console? If the game does have an Online feature, can I use it? Like, syncing my trophies and such? If syncing trophies is possible without ban risk, can I play a han enabled game on a legit (not dummy) account?

If you installed HAN already, then install the new HANtoolbox offline for enable it: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/tutorial-how-to-enable-han-offline.20774/page-7#post-165621

After install HAN, the support files are not required anymore.

BTW, when the writer files are updated, you can install a CFW, don't stay on HAN, it would be a waste.

Are you using the lastest files? **ps3xploit.com >Domain no Longer owned by team** (ps3xploit.me =new) was updated with the HAN stuff. USB on FAT32 (try various USB)

Bookmark Han installer then set home page as blank , then clear cach and history and everything , restart the browser then go to Bookmarked paged from Bookmark , finally ,do the process of installing Han ,Done.
