PS3 4.88 CFW issue

This is my first forum but I'm having trouble getting 4.88 on my ps3. I've watched many videos and did everything they did and my ps3 still won't update.

Side Note: webMAN MOD 1.47.25,multiMAN, and Rebug Toolbox keep saying "An error occurred during the start operation 8001003A" everytime I try to open them but I might need to update first idk. I posted this late so I probably won't see any replies until tomorrow.

the error code says 'Filesystem not mounted. "An error occurred during the install operation". E.G.: unplugged usb during install.'

never seen it before. what do you mean "having trouble"? is the pup file not installing?

The usb was never pulled out during any install or download but I think the pup file isn't installing like you said.

might be a hardware issue, like the usb port loses power or something. if you have a usb hub plugged in, try without it.

Is your console CFW compatible? If so, try enabling QA flags using Habib QA Toggle or Rebug Toolbox.
Once you have QA flags enabled, copy the PUP file to /dev_hdd0/updater/01 and install using System Updater > Update via Storage Media

If you plan to install Evilnat 4.88, you may want to wait for the announced Evilnat 4.88.2 which will fix a kernel issue discovered recently in the initial release.

If your console is Super Slim or Slim model 3xxx (or 25xx with min fw version 3.60 or later) you should install HEN instead of CFW.

About webMAN MOD, I recommend to update to the latest version.

Yep my console is CFW compatible and I will try this right now.

you have to turn on "system update debug" under debug settings before it will let you install a pup the way aldostools recommends.
Really DB is not necessary. I wonder why everyone is having a problem. :randqalan: People have to try both genps3iso_v2.5.exe and makeps3iso.exe. Like more than one dev/mod said makeps3iso.exe works better for installation!!!

Just to bump and reconfirm what others have said, moving the USB to the farthest right USB port resolved my issue.

It does seem that either power or speed of the other USB ports may be what's causing the issue for people with some USB sticks. Mine was a USB adapter with a MicroSD card in it, so that probably exacerbated either the speed bottleneck or the power required. In any case, the furthest right port worked perfectly.
