PS3 4.88 Update is Live! - Official HFW & HEN Released

i got an off topic question.. my cech2504b used to be louder once i started hen/han on 4.86 and 4.87.. i dont have this issue with 4.88.. why?
 
Hi everyone! I write with a translator. I can't install 4.88 HFW. I receive a message from Pendriver via Update via Storage Media that (The latest version of the system software is already installed. There is no need to update.)
From safe mode during installation, it jumps from 22% to 100% and restarts as if it had succeeded, but everything remains in the system information System software Version 4.88. Unable to install HFW 4.88.1.
So it jumps from recovery mode from 22% to 100%, but remains of 4.88 OFW, does not install HFW 4.88.1.
Someone help please to see what could be wrong.
CECH-4004A, There is a 250 GB hdd in the ps3.

it can only display "4.88". we add the ".1" but it does not display. PS3 does not know that ".1" exists. it does not know the difference between OFW and HFW.

it sounds like it installed okay. try one of the HEN installers to be sure.

All right. Thanks for the answer. I thought HFW would appear in System information.
 
Waiting for CFW, Is there any known team working on it?? Will there be an Evilnat 4.88??? that would be nice. I´m currently on Evilnat 4.87
 
Soo I'm running cfw (cobra version) do i have to wait for devs to release new cfw compatible with 4.88 or is it possible to switch to hfw

And if possible what steps do i have to take

You can always switch to hfw but that would mean that you will lose CFW and you would need to strat using HEN instead. I would wait ´till CFW are ready but, if you are too desperate to play online, you can switch to HEN
 
I managed to install HFW 4.88 and HEN + IRISMAN and webman, but the ps3 console got louder, the fan. I think the fan is running at a higher speed. This is normal? CECH-4004A. Thanks for the help.

if you installed webman, yes it is normal. the default fan speed is very low (20% i think?). webman sets it 35% on HEN.

It will be fake, There are always loads of fake sites saying they have what people want. Just try google "ps4 jailbreak 8.50" for examples.

If you try download it you will find its in a password protected zip, then they will ask you to fill out surveys to get the password, but even if you do all that it will turn out to be OFW or HFW. The other scam is worse where they get you to install some dodgy exe.

If you mean this one, it's totally fake. They even say it will install on superslims, then the file is password protected.
